Thread: I think im gonna cry
I agree, stick to your prices, and when they ball you out or call you a cheat, respond like you don't care. Someone will buy eventually. They always do for me and my heavy harvy's are 125k+ depending on crits and i always get my price. Only time i discount a lil is if its CLOSE friends or guildys and or i'm offered materials. Stick it out, this madness will end soon.
Stick to your prices. ![]()
I stay with my 3.5-4.5 cr/unit prices for anyone outside of my guild. Inside my guild -- well -- I do things very differently.
My customers continue sending new business to me, as well as purchasing more for themselves. I refuse to haggle on the pricing. The Price is the Price. Either you value my products and service or your dont. If the latter is true...go find someone else to do the job. There are plenty of architects out there, and I am usually very very busy.
Cheers!

I'm gonna get flamed again!!! That'll be my goal this month. To get burned to the ground in the architect forum. I sell my factories onmy server (I won't say which server)for 30k. Usually they'll haggle the price down to 25k which is the lowest I'll go. Solar generators and medium harvestors I'll do around 15k. 4k for smaller houses and I may even do a buy one get one free for your buddy. All you other architects way-overcharging are going to either have to adjust or quit the profession. Besides, you've had your glory days of ripping off players charging 50k for a factory and amassing a huge fortune...
Seriously though, you folks don't realize thatI'm not the only 'noob' architect trying to survive out there. Remember, it's not about pride or sticking to your gun's. It's based on the economic laws of supply and demand. I'd LOVE to sell them at 50k a factory but will anyone buy them from me? As I said in other posts, myharvestors are burning to the ground and my resources have dried up. The only way to move forward is to hawk my wares at outrageouslycompetitive prices. Yes I'm sure that eventually, I'll run dry of resources and get tired of selling my stuff ata loss but don't forget the wave of other newarchitects that are just lining up to sell their stuff for the same price OR LOWER.So go ahead and be naive and listen to all the other architects and stick to your prices. I'm sure once they've all bailed because they can't compete anymore with the newup-and-coming breed of architectsthe market will stabilize and you'll be back to selling stuff at 50k and up. Or just maybe, we'll all give up and the 'old-schoolers' will reign in glory once again and bask in riches. The outcome of course is unknown, but I'm currently enjoying the profession and I don't mind hawking my wares well below the market price.
By the way, chances are, that fellow who lashed out at you for trying to rip them off isn't lying. He probably DID get or see something for way cheaper. If you disagree with what I'm doing and you want to keep everything status quo, then come and buy all my installations and houses at 30k and you're more then welcome to turn around and sell them at 50k.
Doran,
No flames from me.. Im sorry for you.
Perhaps you could have run 1 or 2 missions to pay maintenance, and then your expensive harvesters wouldnt be burning. Then you wouldnt have to run around trying to make a pittiful amount of money from your structure sales. You could actualy find a real customer, who wants a real service, and is prepared to pay a reasonable amount for it.
It sounds as though you are/were spending alot of time trying to hawk your wares on the street. As a result you have been hanging out with a crowdof the wrong people.
Of this crowd, many dont have any product to sell.. Instead they try to sell product they can't even make yet, at a price that gives them a queue days/weeks long. Most oftheir customers will NEVER see the product.(trust me.. I often try to buy their supposed product.. delivery onMAYBE 25%, and Im NOT prepared to wait a week). If they were charging a realistic price they could just go out and buy 100K ore if they were short of it
Manybuyers are lying to you about what prices they are being offered.. or they are realy offered them, but by the folks in the first group (no product).
The market WILL dry up... but it wont be for a while yet. In the mean time I have sold 25-30 large structures in the last week. I price at aprox 5cpu.
If you want to be permenantly broke, or at best poor compared to pretty much everyone else (of every other class) on the server, then go ahead and follow the cut-price sales model. And please.. keep encouraging other 'Newbs' to do the same.
I wonder if Dayln (who never posts his character name or server you notice), is encouraging this behavious because he knows that it discourages so many new architects, and makes them leave the profession? hmm.. interesting thought... he is VERY MUCH in favour of having fewer architects.
Dayln, Is this some master plan to remove the competion by spreading doom and gloom ? ![]()
Ithink this should be aDayln PvP quote...
'I love the smell of burning harvesters in the morning..... it means VICTORY'
Doom! I tell you Doom!!!!!! ( chuckle )
No flames from me either, you set you own prices and dont listen to others ( not even me ). If someone else is insisting you set your priceparticular way, it is because they dont want you to affect thier busienss, they do not have your best interests at heart.
**edit** the whiners and full speed ahead.
