I know this has been mentioned before and everything but for real, i think im going to cry now. I was in town offering my services for the public as amaster architect who could deliver any good in an hour. I got quite a few tells and every one of them said i was overcharging. Now i charge at around 4cpu just because and i expected some people to say yeah your overcharging by maybe 15k or so. Someone wants to buy a large tat house from me and i quote 150k, he tells me HAHA your such a ripoff i can buy them easily for 60k. I know ill get a few like this but all the tells i got were identical, like heavy mineral harvestors for sale for 50k and such. Why has our profession just wasted away like this, it doesnt feel worth it anymore and its saddening, a respectable profession in my eyes, seems to be the carpet for everyone else.

90% of these people quoting prices are liars. Just trying to get you to lower your price. When I used to try to sell a lot of houses and what not I would quote a price, be told I was a scammer, and a cheat, and so and so is selling for 1credit! Then 15 minutes later that same person would but the item from my vendor.

If these people are getting such great deals then why are they actively seekeing out other architects, whouldnt they just keep with that moron who is underselling himself?

Just tell them "Oh, good for you. My prices are the same, take it or leave it."

the key is sticking to ur price

i sell a small house for 16k...the guy is like "woah dude i can buy them for 10k...lower yours"

i simply respond with "i sell plenty at 16k and ur sale doesnt mean enough to me that i will lower it, why would i if other buy at this price"

more time then u would think, the guy msgs back and buys at 16k

ummm...you can sell the resources for 4 cpu. Why would you bother risking failure and wasting time and/or credits and power in a factory to sell for 4 cpu or less???

Who cares what everyone else charges? The fact is that you can make alot more money and have alot less headache selling raw materials.

My sympathies go out to you. I'm going to mention something that isn't going to be popular but it's what I think. Some of those idiots arent just liars. They are jealous liars with a grudge. They hate having to pay an architect for anything at all. They think we are all rich. They have kaka for brains.

Stick to your prices if you feel they are justified.

Do not undercut yourself, you'll only hate yourself in the morning.

If people can buy cheaper, then let them. EVENTUALLY, most of the undercutters are gonna be tired of feeding the endless mouths of harvestors they have to support, with little to no return on their time.

Your time is valuable, your training was costly, your citicals are the same as losing blood as a warrior.

The sooner people stop caving like sissies to loudmouth, pubescent children who want their candy at the cost of your common sense, the sooner this profession will regain some dignity.

I agree, stick to your prices. I had one player state that I was offering a factory to him the day before at 15k which was an out and out lie. I have had plenty of players say that I am priced too high. In fact, I was selling a medium houses at 70k and a player on this board claimed he was shocked at my prices! I have sold many of them since and have raised my prices because they DO sell. If these players want to run around the starports waiting for an undercutter to hawk structures for cheap, let them. When they get tired of looking, I have a full vender just waiting for them.

Ditto - stick to your prices.

The architct profession was broken (in comparison to weaponsmiths etc) when SoE decided not to implement the Miner profession (would of been the Elite class off the Surveying skill). Without anyone to set a starting price on a unit of resource which all other crafters had to rely on, the architect (due to the sheer volume of resources they use) was gonna get ripped off. =(

It also depends on what server you are on to a degree. I noticed Lowca prices are REALLY low. I see small Tatooine houses selling for 4K in Bestine. 4 FREAKING K! I sell them to my PA for 5K. That sucks man. I feel so dirty in the shower cos I feel my profession is getting molested.

Ditto. Stick to your prices. I still price everything at 6 per for installations. Occasionally, I give a 10% discount if I'm feeling generous. I also offer a resource trade, if they provide the resources, I sell at 2 per resource. Finally, if they give me 4 times the resources equivalent, I'll make the item for free.

I may not sell like gangbusters, but I sell enough. Sales are steady, good enough for me. I sure like to buy those 3k houses when people are selling. Helps keep my vendor stocked.

Yes, stick to your prices, and you will promptly go out of business and quit being an architect. Which is what actually needs to happen.

The early days of "everyone wants buildings and will pay through the nose for them " is gone.

Now there is too much supply for the demand, nothing will correct this, not decay, not sticking to your prices, nothing.... except fewer architects.

Now is the time ofthe buyers market, they will buy from whoever will give them a good price, and that is it.

This will weed out all the older architects that believe in the old fantasy market that no longer and never will again exist, unless they can adapt to the new market reality.

Business is change, adapt or die.

I can, mine isnt that low yet, My server is not feeling it as hard as others are, but it is coming soon.

I generally sell for aorund 3 cr per unit. Anywhere form 2.5 - 4.0 per unit depending on the item, but I am preparing to drop prices as the market turns. It is already turning on many servers.

My prices generally run around 10% to 20% less than the going rate. That price keeps me nicely in customers, the pricesfluctuate often.
