I just realized that the FAQ doesn't actually address the fact that both houses and factories are unaffected by experimentation, even though you can experiment on them.

A harvester does not need always good resources. The subcomponent (yes, one, not componentS) which does the work and the end product need high quality. The components are for example (light) ore mining unit, fluidic drilling pump unit, (heavy) harvesting mechanism and so on. I experimentated a lot and came to the result that if you have this component on 96% and up, and use the right resources for the end product, you will reach the maximum BER and have 2 points left to experiment on the hopper.


Best resources are in my opinion:

Steel: Duralloy

Ore: Katrium Intrusive Ore

Iron: Kammris

Chemical: Lubricating Oil (any quality)


The other subcomponents like generator turbines, (small) structure storage, wall, structural, etc. you can take any crap resource you can find.
