When resources start shifting, our expenses are gonna sky rocket if you use med/large harvesters. Keep that in mind when you price your goods too.

3k to redeed a medium
6k to redeed a large

Rarek --

Thanks for your reply to my quesion, I just wanted to make sure that I am not "ruining" the Architects lively hood.

I also am very excited about the response that his been generated, I was afraid that I would be out of a job in about 2 weeks. As long as some of you that are posting here are on Chilastra, I have no worries. By the way, if you are on Chilastra send me a tell or e-mail would love to hear from you.

Sorry Starsider here but thanks..Btw all you keeping up with this post I have checked a few off site trade boards and the chumps selling for near nothing are getting orders for Med and large houses and cant cover harvester upkeep for the time its taking t get the resources..

Thank the GODS of this game for fixing the harvesters..Yeah its a pain but now you really have to be a player to keep up..

I can do one large houses a day if I have to and I know most cant get that..Once you hit a point where its killing you to sell below a certain price you have to step up..Lucky for me i have sales and orders that cover my upkeep for well over a week so Master here i come :-)

They didnt list thier prices but some had said the are going for that stupid 7k a small to 15k to make anything..

And once again no i dont sell small houses :-)

I sold a bout 3 small houses coming up and it was sooo much work for nothing trying to sell them..

I have started to tell people no when they call about smalls cause i figure there are new novice architects that really need the money ..

Let me regale all of you architects with a little story.

Last night, two, yes TWO architects who are known to spam all over the Coronet starport that they are selling small houses for 10 to 12k contacted me and asked how much I was charging for houses and where the best place to sell them was.

Being the inqusitive type, I replied, "why, are you having problems selling houses at 10k?" to which they replied (differently, but with the same sentiment), "No I'm going broke, I've borrowed 25k from one person and need over 20k to move my harvesters tonight."

I then calmly explained to each of them that not only was I not going to tell them where the best markets are, but perhaps they should examine their selling strategy on these 10 to 12k houses. For the life of me I couldn't convince either one of them that you cannot maintain a medium/large harvester base by selling houses for 10k!!!! I won't even consider making a small house for under 20k. It is just flat not worth my time.

The way I see it is this. If you are trying to become a master architect, you need to stop making the lowbie type items as you advance. You may very well "sell" alot of items, but you are notcovering the increasing costs of resource acquirement. You may move up the skill tree, but when you get to the top, you'll be broke and have to run missions for money. Why would you run missions? You're an architect, not a delivery driver for UPS!

I'm enjoying seeing people "suffer" as it were when the only thing keeping them from being profitable is their own greedy desire to undercut others in the same profession. Three months from now thenumber of architects on each server willhave decreased considerably and the smartest, most-dedicated people will remain. Funny, it smells alot like capitalism!

Yep. I don't make any more small houses unless I'm sure they're going to pay me the price I ask. I've been doing med houses, factories, med harvs, and solar power gens lately. I've ditched the newbie market. I tell people I don't sell smalls too newb. Unless they tell me they'll paythe right priceof course....

I build houses in the Tyrena area, where only one other architect resides currently (a rather open market )...

I currently charge 10K & all resources, with 20K without all the resources, for small Corellian houses. Got two comissions in the past day, so that ain't bad at all to my mind.

A few people seem to have the impression that this is a "cut-throat" pricing plan, however.

Thoughts?

Nothing cut-throat about that InDaHouse. Seems perfectly reasonable that you would charge 10k if they supplied all the resources and 20k if they didn't.

I sell these for 75k on Starsider. My fellow architects, do not give into the undercutters, keep your prices what they should be, don't sell your precious homes for pennies. The undercutterswon't be able to sell their houses fast enough and makeenough of a profit to sell that many houses.A house, especially medium or large is something to be proud of, and work for, not get in a few days of doing delivery missions.
