Provided that harvesters can be placed at that spot (no rough terrain) and there is still place for more harvesters at (almost) the same spawn % I would think 10k is an okay-price for a 80%+ or 90%+ spawn.

Hello my friends,
i thought aboubt providing Service for Surveying Ressources for Artisans and Ressource Miners. I mine ressources for my Professions too, and i know how stressy and time-costly the search for precious ressource spots can be.
we all can find good ressources at www.swgcraft.com, but this valuable site does not provide you with a waypoint with a good fat spawn for the particular ressource you need.
Further can surveying be very dangerous on Planets like Endor or Yavin 4.
My Question is: 1) Would any of you pay for a survey service wich brings you a good spot with high Yield (a service wich a survey bot wont do)
2) how much would you pay (if any)
3) is there any sercvice you would like too (e.g. protecting you while you collect your ressoures, placing your Harvester)

I've paid pretty well for a surveyor before... 50k for a high % spot of some random high-quality doc resource, but this was awhile ago and you can probably get better now. I have my human **edit** now [Gito, in my sig] so I don't need to anymore, but the need is out there.

Nice. If someone were offering a service like this on my server I would definitely make it worth their time.
As for other services, I had a great deal going with someone from my town for a while. He ran a "contract harvesting" business. Basically he used his 10 lots and survey skills, and you would tell him what you wanted harvested and what planet he could find it on. He'd go out, find the best waypoint, put his harvesters down, and then sell you the output at a price you had negotiated (usually depending on resource quality, which planet it was on, etc). It was great for both of us - I got a lot of great resources without having to spend time chasing down waypoints, and was able to gather more of exactly what I wanted than my small number of free lots would allow. And he had a guaranteed sale for his resources at a good price, for a minimum amount of work on his end. Unfortunately, he quit SWG a few weeks ago, so I'm back to hustling for my resources. If someone offered a service like this, I'm sure a lot of busy crafters would be interested.

I think this is a great idea for anyone who wants to start up a surveying business. I am so busy doing factory runs and making orders for people plus just hunting and stuff that I don't have much time to run around looking for a waypoint. I'm sure you'll meet a LOT of people that would require your help, depending really on how much u charge
I dont see why they wouldnt pay you well forthem being able to just do other stuff and not worry bout finding a place to put harvestors down.

On Ahazi, there are a couple of people that do this for others. I don't know them personally, but when I can't do it myself it works pretty smoothly. I just send them an email that says what resource I'm needing and they find me a waypoint. They charge $20K for the service and have a minimum % of concentration so I am guaranteed not to go below a certain number. Usually they do quite well in finding a higher percentage and sometimes even send me 2 or 3 waypoints to choose from. All of this is usually emailed back to me in 1-2 days.

I use my survery drones alot.. it is real nice, i can send a probe to each planet and in about 35 mins get a responce from all of them.. and not leave the planet.. cant think of a PC that can do that in that much time.. but also it does not tell you the %, just what resources is on the planet (which Is nice.. if it showed the % that would be broken)

Too bad you're not on Sunrunner -- I would definitely pay for such a service, especially as I use my Master Doc's lots often, and she has no artisan abilities.
How much would I pay? Gee, I dunno -- but if someone made me an offer I would definitely give it serious consideration.

Here is a site where resource spots are bought/sold:
http://www.swg-iss.com/v2/
Might be worth a look.

I agree with Earymi; I wish you were on Sunrunner. I hate wasting time searching for a good vein, and would pay for a waypoint.

I too agree that i wish you were on ahazi. I get good references from DENet but i have no surveying skills myself and feel bad that I cnnot contribute more to DENet. I have a crew that does my resource surveying for me but I have to tell them EXACTLY what I am looking for and then if they have time after gathering their own resources they will look for mine. I don't know what to tell you to charge either but I know I would pay something for the service.

Personally I'd pay a LOT more than that for a good spot. I think the going price (at least what I've seen advetised) is 1K per %. Now obviously you're not gonna waste 30K no a 30% spot, but if someone finds me a 90% spot of a killer resource and there's no harvs there, I'll happily pay 90K. You need to agree on a minimum percentage before the surveyor goes out, after that higher percent means for cash.It wouldn't be worth anyone's time to spend an hour looking for a good spot and get paid 10K. Too bad you're not on Kauri

Since we all know how seldom it is that you get a high spot of a rare (!) ressource with _no_ harvs on it, I might explain why I said 10k instead of 100k, which would probably worth the price if you can live months afterewards from the ressource stock you pulled at that time.
Usually a surveyor will sell a good spot to several people, and if it is a huge spawn area over several hundred meters, a sea of harvs will build up there. Leaving the surveyor with say 100-150k for that one spot, when he sold it to 10-15 people. He will usually discover more than one good spot on a planet, and ressources commonly spawn on several planets at once. Leaving the surveyor with quite a lot of spawns and credits, ending up in quite a large sum of credits on new-spawn-day, probably more than the average (not insanely rich) armorsmith makes a day.
The rich AS will pay you 100k, no doubt about it. The common AS and the newcomers will pay less, but you can still make a fortune.
