Thread: Things Master Architects wish they knew at Novice Architect
Oh, I forgot to add this. You will definately want the best:
+ Structure and Furniture Crafting Tool
+ Structure and Furniture Crafting Station
Seriously though, things I wish I had known? That the large chunk of phokolite ore and Ionite ore that I had was useful later despite its low stats... that Triiam aluminum was really good and not for using on Generator Turbines...
The list goes on... but really, you should learn to choose what materials you harvest, and which ones to buy. Especially if you have trouble with lots. Power can be bought cheap, I find radioactives through friends for 1cpu... ore for around 2cpu... buy these, and save your lots for the rare stuff.
RARE RESOURCES POP UP ALL AT ONCE. I have seen it many times before, desh copper, phokolite ore, ionite ore, Kelsh, Thallium copper... and ultra rare neut steel that doesn't suck... they all come in at once to confuse and confound people. Oh yeah, we have Liquid Petro fuel #4 as well, and a half dozen other things.
Keep an eye on www.SWGcraft.com, these guys are Excelent. Get an account there, help submit data... I use them to jump onto resources before anyone else has a chance to. Thats how we got such a great spot for Neut steel (for an armorsmith friend). Heck, donate to them.
Never try to fill orders expecting resources from mineral currently mining. At a moments notice, resources can shift and good stuff will be out there you absolutely need. Always mine ore. When theres nothing to mine, dont forget you still have a dozen fusions you should plant somewhere.
Architecture is really the mining profession...
Yes. I can't agree with that one enough. Best SWG site ever!

Hmm... I just yestarday mastered architect with making gungan heads on practice all the waySeriously, architect seems a nice profession... Too bad Im not that much of a crafter type, just a pesky silent grinder...
so now look what you've done, Peko-Pekos are added to the list of endangered species. Huff !
1st.. if you are flying acros the country side and come across a grou of minerial harvestors, pull ut your survey device and see what they are pulling, you may just need to drop a harvestor
2nd.. the structure/wall modules are the best way for non-holo grinders to go.. i made 2000 structure mods yestarday
3rd.. do the harvestors column of arch last.. get the first one in the begining and then save the other 2 till the end
thats all i have thats not already been posted.. good luck
3rd.. do the harvestors column of arch last.. get the first one in the begining and then save the other 2 till the end
let me correct myself --> 3rd.. do the installations column last.. get the first installs skill and than save the other 3 in that column till the end.
sorry, getting kinda late

Meh. You want a Mining profession? Take a hold of Weaponsmithing at some stage, count up the total number of named/sepcific resources required.
No, that's prospecting! Tell me how hard it is when the material to makeTEN WALLS would make 100 guns mate.
10 wall = 70k
100 guns = well over 1 million

Things I wish I knew:
- Solar Gens suck. They only max at BER 8, and a wind gen generally goes better, for much lower cost. A fusion, when you can make them over BER 9, and especially at BER 14 is much better
- Resist the urge to use a great steal on medium harvesters, at the point that you can first make a medium. If you don't have the 10 experimentation pts to use to get a BER 9/10 medium, an average steal will get you a BER 6/7. Using 900+ qlty steel to get a BER 6/7 harv, because you only have 4-8 experimentation pts was a waste, and I did that several times.
- Keep an eye out for some good steel and some good ore. Having a small stash ready for when you do become a master will prove rewarding. But keep that stash to the side.
- Upgrade your harvesters as you get better. It's rewarding to see your BER inch up, as you skill up, and you need xp, so why not use fleet upgrades as a means to get xp.
- If you can find someone buying walls, only sell enough walls to cover the costs of your grind. Try to hoard every wall your inventory will allow. Having 30-50 walls set aside for the day you become a master will make that goal all the more rewarding (really wish I'd done that).
- Medium houses sell pretty well. You can probably shout sell them at a busy starport.
- Large houses are often harder to sell, but you never know. Have one in your inventory, just in case.
- A structure factory will generally bea waste of credits to plant, until you master architect. Make one during your grind for the xp, but then keep it in your inventory.
- Equipment, clothing, and food factories also sell well. Consider shout selling these at a busy starport.
