You do have to be an MAS and the mission is only hard if you need to get your own components..... If you have everything already, it's extremly easy and requires no combat if you can avoid everything on your way there.

It's not that hard per se, but it can be kind of expensive to get the parts necessary and yes, you need to be master. Depending on the random spawns around the hut, you might need someone to come along for protection also. (There was some beast there that killed me my first time while I was crafting in the hut )
