Thread: Decay Poll
disagree.
I would only agree to this if the resources needed where saverly dropped, or a form of crafted powerup work on it.
Oliva, I do Pay Mantenance on my car, and it still decays. If I dont to pay mantenance on my car it decays faster. It is not bogus, every craftable item in the game should decay at some rate.
Not true. Ford Model-T's (some of the first cars) are still driving on the road today. The issue is whether the person pays ENOUGH maintenance to upkeep...if the person does, the item shouldn't decay (as with the Model-T's)
Honestly, you architects that are advocating this are shooting yourself in the foot. I will NEVER buy another house, or another piece of furniture, if either of those are forced to decay. It is annoying enough that I have to make trips to my house to pay maintenance fees.
Just ask for a % of maintenance fees and be done with it.
No to structure decay
Yes to furniture decay.
Thats a no unless we can chose what kind of decay we're getting.
/agree harvestors and factories, they have moving parts and pay for themselves fast enough. No one said everyone should be mining, only miners.
/disagree houses & furniture, there is a better solution. Add personalization in color and styles and people will change them from matters of taste. Just like clothes. You just shouldn't be allowed to redeed houses. Taste in location will add enough in keeping that market continual. It becomes the players choice in both cases.
You might soften the blow of havestors and factories degrading by making it possible for architects to get some components or materials from a spent one. This will let the person who owned it make some of their money back by trading in the old one.
You have to do something, soon everyone will have 8 heavies of everything.
People that have kept a Model T runnig for this long have done more pay mantenance than100 of them were worth to begin with.
I will agree to that have the pay mantenance keep increasing until it cost more to keep one running then it does to buy a new one.
/disagreeWith introducing structure decay
/disagree With introducing furniture decay
I understand that architects need renewable income and the market shouldn't get saturated, but the cons of this far outweigh the pros for me. I'd rather like to see the devs come up with a way to keep the market healthy without imposing the inconvenience of replacing houses/PA Halls/harvesters/factories constantly.
How about this: a deed would know the architect that created it. Each time the structure is redeeded, the architect that created it would get 50% or so of the money it costed the customer to redeed it?
A crazy idea perhaps. What do you think?
/agree harvester decay
/agree furniture decay
BUT,
/STRONGLY disagree with house or PA hall decay - this needs to be a deal breaker - if they its an all or none deal, then it would have to be none

lol, So let me get this straight, you're comparing a virtually essential object in real life to something in a game that the majority of us don't even need but buy anyways because it looks good? I have a house that's private as well as share a PA that's private, My guild and I buy furniture because it looks good, not because we need it, now you're wanting us to lose that furniture and buy new ones? I don't know about everyone else, but I sure as hell am not going to replace 50k+ of furniture every month just so my house looks "good".
I've had my truck for over 3 years, despite the oil changes, gas,and new tires, I haven't had to spend 1/8th of what I originally paid for it.. But of course I've paid for my harvestors 20 times over (which I've now all gotten rid of due to the hassle and money sink) 1 house is all I have left, If they introduce decay I'd just let it fall to peices.
/depends re: furniture - more neutral on this one. however, if there were more variety in furniture, i'd mind this less and would be /agree on it. furniture can be repaired. create a furniture repair kit like those for weapons, armour, clothes.
/disagree on furniture decay--I like the idea of having your house maintenance fees include a slight increase for the total value of the furniture inside, to imply maintenance of the building and the furniture items within.
I also disagree with simply filtering a % of maintenance fees to the architect. That doesn't keep the architects crafting, that just gives them money for doing nothing. They make a sale, they get paid. If items decay then the architects will make additional money be crafting more items and/or repair kits. There needs to be something to keep crafters crafting (much like the WS and AS enjoy now, with weapons and armor losing condition based on usage in combat)--it's not JUST the crafters that will benefit from this, but also the sub-strata of players who support the crafting industry, such as miners, rangers, etc.--all the players who harvest resources from the ground and from mobs. Keep everyone in business by sustaining the need for resources.
