Thread: which is better?

Again, I don't fly it, but one of the opponents I dislike seeing in DS are Heavy X-Wings. Between their raw damage and ability to carry massive shields, armor, and a big engine, they can be quite the opponent in the hands of a skilled pilot. I've had to peg away at them with my poor little level 7 gun for quite some time in the past to try and bring them down, makes for an interesting fight.

At least A-Wing pilots have the curtesy to die when you shoot at them! (insert friendly wink at Leaph here)

I had my first PvP experience in DS today, in a Rihk with a laggy connection (good ping and frame rate, though). As you can guess, I didn't exactly survive it, though I might have been able to do so with epulse3. That ship is just NOT built for a turning battle...

Oh well, on to the next squadron, I'd like to do 3 before settling in a bit.

1. Heavy X-Wings do quite well in Deep Space. In fact, a good pilot who knows what they're doing can be very successful, especially since the X-Wing can soak up quite a bit of damage properly managed (but wait, waaaaah, PvP is one hit kills! LIES!). It has the mass to hold components to make up for it's slightly slower handling.

my T/A can one shotany adv-xwing as long as its not packing an adjusted shield. even with an adjusted shield i could get a one hit disable with a good damage roll.

the dual l6s guns (10k mass each) hit for an applied pvp dmg of 4600-7000

that said, an xwing can still be effective agianst less experianced pilots. the xwing can get head on hits very easily, and not everyone packs enough firepower to one-shot it.

Premptive pre-edit strike - I misread your post, so this might seem grouchier than it should. And I'm guessing by adjusted you mean the program described below, and not the exploited shields? Back to my original post:

A smart rebel will be running Front Shield Adjust Extreme (or whatever the program is called) bumping thier shields to 4600ish (I forget the specifics) on a non-exploited level 8 reward shield. Figure in PvP reduction and armor, plus component armor, and no - you cannot 1 shot them with that setup.

Not saying it's not possible, just pointing that out.

Also, lots of folks flying heavy ships - those only mount one gun, usually a level 8. A Belbullab with twin level 7's or 8's would still need a good hit with both weapons, which means countering the spread, as slight as it is.

Depends what your hunting. For npcs and pve and some pvp 1 is better. If your going for mostly jedi then 2 is better but does worse in pvp sometimes and takes longer to kill things with.

Does it really make that much of a difference between like 4xxx cm and mcm in pvp?

what makes a difference is how fast you are and how much dmg you spit out.
