Thread: How to get to Novice Archt
Ok,
I'm grinding Crafting tools to get the General Crafting Exp to get to Arch.
What did you guys do because this is killing me. It's gonna take awile this way.
I Would like to know as well of a faster way to acheive the necessary 33k crafting points!
So far I am upto 7k (in 1 hour) and my hand is sore !
I am crafting Clothing and Armor Tool's, and it is putting me to sleep =), but on a positive note, it is nice to see my harvester's keeping me supplied in the necessary Steel, and Polymar's needed to make the 475 odd Tools I need!
That's 11,400 Metal, and 4750 Chemical!!!! WOW Thats alot of wasted resources
well..not going to tell you items to make..dont need you ruining the market and flooding the bazaar,,,
another trick though if you arent already doinf it is to build several crafting tools and put them on your tool bar...as soon as you hit create hit the hot key and open the next one
If you have a lot of money and resources to waste and want to do it the fastest way possible...the reinforced wood staff gives 80XP a pop, but uses a lot of resources(40r). Also because of thetime they take, you will need to work with 3 crafting kits on the toolbar. And the enter button saves a lot of clicks ( I wish I knew that from the start) Oh.. and make sure in options you have the confirm craft steps turned off!!
The next best I found was the shortsleeve shirt, 60XP each, but also use 30r. And when didnt have alot of resources I did the mine explosive kits and stock powerups for 40XP each but only 10r.
No matter what you do it pretty much sucks, I still have about 7600 to go......thats about 100 more Reinforced staffs. Also, be careful when delete your uselss objects, In my clicking stupor I accidently deleted valuable resource containers..
I hope this helps.
~Prinethea (from Anchorhead on Starside, future Novice Architect 7600 XP to go)
here is a good guide to get novice architect:
1. put on a movie.
2. get 4 tool kits.
3. make watever you want.
4. after youve watched that movie10 times ull be novice architect.
disable the craft confirmation
disable the delete confirmation
use 2 crafting tools
use the enter key
turn the sound off so you don't gotta listening to annoying beeping
blast some funk from the stereo
make survey tools nonstop and delete tehm
take a break every couple k and go do something else if you don't wanna go blind
All good advice, thanks.
I actually didn't know about the Weapons upgrades....I think they are my favorite now due to the xp/resource ratio.
How bout this question:
Anyone find anything they can make and actually sell?
I know you could probably sell most things but anything that is usually in decent demand. Currently I have given up trying to sell anything I make because I can't find decent demand for anything specific. I put my first few batches of crafting kits in the Bazaar (they were the first ones there for my city) and they sold pretty good for a bit but now the market is flooded. I don't want to have to explain weapons upgrades to newbies and risk that they already have on installed.
Anyone actually find anything that they can grind on and sell (at least a little)?
There is no faster way to get the 33K XP points for Novice Architect.
The best item I found was a Coupler - weapon upgrade. It costs 10 units of resource and gives 40 XP. Some of you may have noticed that when you make an exceptional item it gives more XP - up to 60 for 'tweaked', I believe.
At any rate, it took me about 6 to 8hours of making and destroying these couplers, non-stop.
Also - and very important info here - you can't train Novice Architect from another player, you HAVE to pay an NPC Architect Trainer for the skill. After I FINALLY hit 33k XP and spent 2 hours running around Theed looking for another Architect I was finally informed of this.
So make sure you have 5,000 credits to spend on the training. It took me about 30 to 45minutes to get that 5K credits, running 4 in-town missions to get the cash for a round-trip ticket to Moenia - then two delivery missions to Moenia. Don't forget to take two more delivery missions BACK to Theed. And you have to do it twice (A total of 8 long-distance delivery missions and 4 in-town missions if you start with 0 cash).
Just using Theed - Moenia as an example, as that's where I'm at. But just pick the furthest city away from your current location, as these pay the most. And destroy missions always pay more than delivery.
Also keep in mind that in order to master ANY profession you HAVE to have a certain number of Apprentice points, so people - DON'T BE STINGY WITH YOUR SKILLS - train as many others as you can in whatever novice skills you have, because when you finally get to that last lesson plateau you'll be begging to train others for those points.
Not that I made it past eng 4, i have been working on it and work so the time thing gets in the way but, I have been collecting from two metal sources and I use the nicer to make the stuff I put up for sale. The other tends to be the mods and grind junk that kind of pay off and I just destroy them or use them to build the next round of harvestors.
I think tonight I am going to run some missions, make enough to run my junk and grind the rest of the night form the stuff i dig up.
although i paid 50$ to dig in the dirt it has been fun and I have been seeing quite a bit of the desert in tatooine.
