I was looking at the start guide a work and started to look at how much gcxp it would take to get noivce architect and so on. I know that in the game it requires 33k xp but in the strat guide it says u only need 6000. I double checked this and looked at the levels for the architect and noticed that the highest ones only required 20 thousand exp. What gives? Please devs changed it back to this scale. I dont wanna have to grind, I would like to play casualy and be ablt to make houses now instaed of 4 months..

At that scale people were getting master architect in one day. And then making their factories and pa halls and giving up the skills to master something else.

If you want those houses to have value, we need to keep it like it is.

He's right, MA was a one day thing in beta. Now a Master Architect is going to be a rare thing. This is how it should be. It's not a profession for the quick and the impatient.

I hope they keep it how it is.

With the old scale, you could play for a week or two and be pretty much done with the game, that's definately not a good thing. MMORPGs are supposed totake months, even years to 'max out' and be done with the game.

I'm inbetween casual and powergamer, and I got novice architect in 4 days, although it took alot of pointless grinding and clicking, it went by fairly fast, and I can already make houses.

The old scale was testing-only, so that they could test every single one of the advanced professionsin beta fairly quickly.

Ah to be 14 or 18 again and have a summer vacation on my hands.. unfortunatly those days are gone and so are 18hour a day gaming sessions..

A powergamer will always be that and there is nothing that can be done about it. The hard task is balancing the very causal to the powergamer. Now that's a trick.

I'm an enthusiast, somewhere in between. I'll make Novice Architect in the next day.. I'll do my little increments of grinding.. but I offset it by my aim for Master Pistoleer..

I'm having fun though and the pace is not breakneck, more a nice jog.

Yes the Master Architect is Joenus (Jonus) from BHSS (Blach Hand Secret Societ) on Tarquinas. With a LOT of help from his PA they were the first to create a Guild Hall as well.

They are a very cool PA, and are very helpful. They were also the largest beta PA.

That IS a trick, to balance the hardcore players (or exploiters, there are THOSE types of players too) and the la dee da players. Lots of people move between these two categories. One thing I think isn't cool is the fact that the beta testers are all large and in charge. And the fact that you have a person already a master architect makes me sick. Sure they are nice guys...and girls? Whatever. S my D. I hope the Dev team shoots you all into a different part of the galaxy where you can never come back. Yes I'm jealous, but the fact is that I am going to be a master architect on my own. We are talkin months here people, not days. I read all about the faction exploit that allowed a large amount of people to funnel tons of xp into one person's character, and for our buddy Mr. #1 MA to tell me that it didn't happen like that is hogwash. It's impossible to do that, unless you are running 3rd party software and have 40 people using 10 harvesters a piece and giving it all to you. Bah.

Forever a Novice

Hey Barma, some of us beta testers aren't, hell, MOST of us beta testers aren't Master anythings. It's just large PAs, period. Please don't confuse the two.

Well, I was in beta fairly briefly and have been powering through some artisan skills. I thought I was doing good making master artisan in basically two days. I am not sprinting to Master Architect in the same fashion because I want to shoot some stuff occasionally.

The thing about beta testers is that some of us have been trying to help you vulgar people along. For the first week of thegame I think I have explained the experimentation system to newbs at least 30 times. I did this because I thought I owed it to people. Now does that mean that the playing field was level? Of course not. But all those people who didn't have to buy a strat guide or get pissed off and quit the game because all their CDEF's were the same... I think we beta testers deserve some respect for what we've done.

If we can do things you do not understand yet, that really doesn't seem to be a huge deal. If we are architects before you are, so what? This is not a race, it's about playing your character.

So anyone that thinks we beta testers are fouling up the balance of the game should go talk to one of the hundreds of people I've helped in Mos Entha on Eclipse. Then tell me the game is not better off for us being here now.

To Tavian:

I definitely see some beta testers differently now. Thank you. I hope you understand what type of audience I was targeting. I meant to distinguish the certain exploiters FROM the betas, although both I think can spawn from same category. Sorry for misunderstanding.

Nothing can be done about the exploiters except to ban their accounts. This was a known issue and you're not suppose to willing take advantage of known issues. We'll see what happens, but frankly this kind of bug should never have made it passed beta.
