I am ready, finally, to sell paintings. I have several versions that I have been stocking up on for the last several months. What price point do you sell you paintings at? 5k? 10k? 20k?

I am talking about those painting schematicsthat we get from the bestine museum.

Thanks!

if you sell them at any of the prices you just stated you will be makeing a loss, so i sell emm for 48k each as made paitings so i get twice the money back i payed for them

lots of people sell them for much more than that or abit less, it all depends on how kind your feeling when you go to sell them

I used factory runs to produce several hundred of each. So selling them for 48k each is far to high, IMHO. If they couldnt be mass produced then that price point would apply.

OMG that's funny.

*sniff* *sniff*I smell a grinder.

10K. But thinking about raising that for the first weeks paintings.

By this point, I'm also now buying up the paintings from the first run if they show up on the Bazaar.

I usually do a factory run of 500 of them. The amount I charge depends on how many resources (and type of resource) I will need for it.

I range from 10K to 25K. I usually go higher priced whena new painting comes out, then lower the price to 10 to 15K.

I've actually started to raise the prices for the older ones now to 15K to 20K.

I charge between 5k and 7k based on the resources. I do not have a public vendor so I only make around 20 to 30 paintings. Selling them at this price makesa little profit for me. I know one guy on the server that only charges 1500 though. But he is in a highly travelled area.

I normally charge about 10k per painting, I crated out a ton of them, and I want everyone to be able to get one if they want I might start charging a bit more for the older ones though due to demand...

This is true, you also have to take into account the economy on your server. I try to see what other crafters are charging for items periodicaly so I know I'm not overcharging or way undercharging. I recommend checking out other vendors at least on your planet and see what's going on. Other than that I normally just charge what seems fair to me, it's worked well so far

I sell them for 16k. If I recall right, I figured once that I make about 400k a month average off of them. So thats 25 paintings sold and almost all profit.

The going prices on your own server does matter a lot. If the bazaar is flooded with them for 1k each or if every other vendor you check has them for 5k then that is going to drive down what you can charge.

However I think that paintings are one item in particular that we can charge more than the cheaper folks and still sell well enough. As long as you have a vendor setup I think you'll get enough drop in customers who won't mind knowingly paying an extra 5-10k for a painting if they want it. Even if they are on the bazaar for 1k, there are lots of people who never visit the bazaar anymore because there just isn't anything much there that matches their gaming level. And there are plenty of people who are wealthy enough that they'd rather just pay an extra 5-10k than bother taking the time to check even one other vendor.

I also think the market for paintings is pretty limited, but the people who do want them are willing to pay for them. So the market could bear a higher price if we charged it.

As usual youve raised some good points there pawlin, with this advice in kind, Im gonna try raising the prices a little. If they dont sell, I can always drop them down again.

As I indicated I have been holding off on selling them until I had enough variety to make it worth the shopper's while to peruse my paintings vendor. With some variety and enough of each painting I figure I can make some decent cash from these. I intend to offer them at the 20k price point and see how the market handles them. I know that I would make a profit at 15k or 10k, but what the heck. I charge such low prices on the installations and houses, that I figure I can get more profit mileage from the paintings. Since they are percieved as somewhat of a rare item...why not try to squeeze a bit more cash from the customers. Besides....90% of my profit goes right into the Aurora treasury.

Thanks for the advice chaps!
