Sitting infront of the factory emptying crates of structural modules into the input hopper to make wall modules? =P I've been at it for half an hour right now. It's fun stuff. Only about 650 structural modules left!

Close! but since I'm not quite at Master yet I'm building the struct mods myself 20 at a pop to run walls through the factory.

By far this is the most useful xp build for me at the moment. building larges that require 5 walls a pop sure racks up the xp.

I hate crates. Can't believe you have to unload them to use in a factory.

Have you gotten the bug where the crate stops unloading? Had 62 structural mods in a crate, unload...unload... get down to 18, hit unload it flashes 17 then back to 18. 17 then 18, 17 then 18, darn thing is stuck. Happens about 25% of the time. When I re-log it works but it is incredibly annoying when you have a customer waiting.

I have a really stupid workaround--- I find that if you leave a factory crate be for about 25-30mins before trying to use it after it's completed, it'll never give you problems. Does it suck you gotta sit around waiting 25-30mins to use a crate? Yeah. But oh well, welcome to SWG.

I've loaded about 10,000 struc mods by hand into my factory now. I used to make them by hand too, I got Master Architect quicker that way than any other. To any Novice Architects out there, try and finda master architect and make an agreement with him to sell him identical walls at 5-10k each. Most will agree, and not only will you be able to move up in skill the same as if grinding, you'll be making money.

One identical wall is around 5000 XP. It takes 7 walls to make a heavy harvester. So for every set of walls you provide an architect, you can make 35-70k in money and 35k in cash.

Not bad, eh?

I thought factory XP is only 10% so that really that wall is worth only 500xp.

I've had luck solving the crate bug by 'crossing a server boundary.' I know exactly where I need to run to now, after doing it so many times. Luckily, my house is close to the line.

Actually, if you build all the structural modules by hand its 5000 xp. 500 per structural mod. Then if you use a wall schematic you get 125 xp since that is 10% of 1250 xp, the amout you get for making a wall by hand.

But if you built a wall from start to finish using a factory then you would get625 xp.

I saw several ppl commenting on making structure modules by hand for identical wall modules. I'm just now getting up to med harvesters (haven't even set up the factory I built yet.) I thought factory made items had to use identical components from what you made the schematic from. I always thought you had to make 21 structure modules (one for schematic) in a factory to make 2 identical wall modules (just add 10 more per wall module needed.)

PLEASE clarify this for me. I like to start building stuff for the next skill tree, so I have most of the sub-components done before I get there. (6 wall modules for heavy min and 5 wall modules for fusion gen will add up to some real XP if I can make structure modules by hand.)

Some of the factory schematics do indeed require identical components, such as Power Core Units. However, Wall Modules do not require identical Structural Modules so you can hand craft them for some rather decent experience.

STWE -

If you make a schematic using identical components, then it will require identical components. If you use 2 or more different components (9 identical and one handmade even) it won't care what you throw in the factory hopper.

People often handmake a bunch of blocks for the XP, but then throw them in a factory to make identical walls (needed for large harvesters).

I just 'semi-macro-craft' (aka.only have to dbl-click the resources)the structure mods. Get XP like crazy, but I burned through 20k ore rather quickly. =(

Thanks
