Collusion on prices will never work, because to many people XP is more important than money. As the other guy said, in PAs they run missions or share money with others so they don't have to worry about costs.

I suggest if you want to be an architect get in a PA. I don't see individuals being able to hack it as an architect. Or be a hyrbrid, do architect and something else.

What we really need is for the devs to come up with more content or changes that balance the profession. I was very disappointed to learn today that turrets are faction perks that anyone can get and place. What happened to just architects being able to place battlefield structures? I think turrets should be madeby architects, not faction perks. We don'thave any useful items that detoriate and need to be replaced over time.

Good rally to the troops, but I don't think this is necessary. I'm already seeing people leave the profession. Less people are complaining about paying higher prices too.

I don't dicker on prices unless I need resources and I give friends a deal. If someone complains about my prices I just explain I can not and will not compete with people grinding it out for exp. I have sold everything I made since novice architect and so its never been an issue for me.

Granted this is an old issue, but I wanted to drop my 2 credits worth in here..

I made master architect 2 days ago. I did it completely on my own with one friend to help me with extra lots for harvesters. I did not have a PA to back me. I am proud of my accomplishment, but I am wondering on the end game now.

I have done my part to establish a decent economy on my home planet of Rori on the Tarquinas server, never dropping my prices, and never ever giving away my services. I have had few complaints on my prices, and I welcome anyone that doesn't like my prices to go elsewhere. If you can get a small house for 5k less on Tatooine, feel free to spend the time and credits to travel there and get it. I will be happy to sell you furniture or harvesters if you need them. I never hurt for xp, and I was just busy enough to keep me going 4-6 hours per night even when I didnt want to play for more than 2.. As a master, I have orders for 4 PA halls already, and down payments on 2, although I didnt ask for them.

After all the guilds have PA halls though, I wonder how busy things will be. When every player that wants a house has a house, the market will slow down. I will not be able to compete with a novice architect in those conditions as I cannot afford to drop my prices.. and I dont get any xp anymore, so where is my incentive? I see this as a potential problem that every serious architect will face in the coming months, but lets look at right now.

If you drop your shorts to sell a house for near cost, just because you get the xp, when you reach master, your customers and your reputation will expect you to be cheaper than everyone else. When you no longer gain from giving away stuff, where are you going to go? If you drop your prices you will attract the "price is the only reason" crowd, and people that are more interested in finding a friendly customer service oriented architect will not necessarily be your customers. When you have to raise your prices to earn a living, those customers will walk to the next guy who is willing to drop his pants..

I charge: 15k for small, 60k for medium, and 135k for large. This is the good guy deal and it doesnt change.

I charge 25k for mineral, 45k for chem and gas mediums, and 175k-225k for large harvesters. (1k for small)

I charge 45k for factories and 500k for PA halls..

I have more business than I can handle.

It is all in the reputation. My clients know I will come through for them by the time I say I will, and I dont dissapoint. There will be architects selling houses on Rori for 10k soon enough, I will still charge 15, and I will probably get it.. If not, I can always take my resources to market and make my 3 cr per there.. In the next few months.. I expect furniture, factories, and harvesters will be the mainstay..

Here is the suggested price circulating per email on bloodfin.

We don t really care about loosing customers, we couldnt possibly serve them all anyhow. In fact I have to refuse most people atm cause all the demand I get is for complexe structures such as large harvesters, PAs and large houses. Ressources in the bazaar are selling for 3x to 7x, I d rather jsut sell my ressources in bazaar rather then waste time making things that people dont want to pay more then 1x the ressources.

10-15k for small Houses (Should be accessible to casual gamers for crafting stations)
70-75k For Medium Houses
60-70k For Factories
250k for Large Houses

Med Mineral Harvs 18k, all the other ones that require walls instead of structure modules are 40k

Large Harvs 175k - 190k

Guild Halls, planet specific 450k, generic is 475k cause of the extra 2 walls and power core

Furniture is 3 x ressources + 20%, furniture that requires rare ressources is billed at 7x ressoruces if I remember correctly.

why would you sell a med house for less than 1/2 of a large?

Just letting ya'll know that I read the post, but I can't really say anything. I price my houses on how much materials it takes to make it, and then add some in because of time and trouble. Right now I only have Installations and Houses I, so I haven't seen any resource lists on anything above small stuff.

But you will never undercut me.

I wonder how you can rightly call me an idiot. I would be interested in discussing with any of you how you base your prices on pertinent things, such as:

per unit cost to harvest resources

per unit cost to buy from a decent supplier (not joe schmo I sell for 4 credits per unit on bazaar)

In fact, I would love to hear any arguments for pricing OTHER then "well mr. fighter dude can kill creatures and get lots of money" or "I can make more selling my resources than my product."

PLEASE KEEP THIS BUMPED!

Ok guys this is it. We have to ban together and save out profession.
I dont wana see any more posts here from idiots "Oh! I sell large houses for 40k and make gobs of money"
Its BS and we all know it. I have stuck to my prices from Birth to Master and I have only 600k

20k for small Houses
60-70k For Medium Houses
60-70k For Factories (they make tons of money using these)
220k for Large Houses

Med Harvs 18k (they can make back their money in a day)
Large Harvs 175k (again they can make their money back fast and they are a %*@# pain to make)
Guild Halls 400k - 450k

We need to stuck to this general area of pricing. Im not saying rock solid but general area.
PA Architects. We know you have alot of support. But please dont ruin the game for the
rest of us.

If you see someone underselling LAY INTO THEM and spread the word on the boards here so WE can lay into them.

If you see some NOOB selling smalls for 10k, offer 7.5k and they will usually take it. Sell on your vendor for 19-20k. Ive done this 10 times without fail.

Remember.. Having to MOVE 10 Med Harvs every 5 days costs 30k creds and at least 10-20k power and a WHOLE days work.

I have a weaponsmith and an Armorsmith in my company and they are both multi millionaires.
We work just as hard and deserve some profit as well.

DONT CAVE TO PEOPLE WHO SAY "I can get that large for 50k elsewhere" 9 out of 10 times they just HEARD that and will be back to pay the normal price when you are polite and explain you cant sell that low and tell them its a great deal and should go for it. They come back almost every time. If someone IS selling cheap they are SO backloged with orders people want their Item NOW and will pay for it.

STICK TOGETHER BOYS!
