The new professions of course.

Now, they may simply come off of the Artisan or DE tree. And will probably depend on them. Who knows?

I'm assuming it will be a new profession. I think this is too big of a deal to throw into another profession.

But I'd love it if they threw it into architect.

Ship Engineer will of course, because that will most likely be the name of one of the professions (along with possibly Pilot, not sure what other two profs will be).

In fact if you read the ign interview, they basically stated there would be a "ship engineer" profession and how fast someone masters it would more than likely depend on what ships are available and in demand. Question is, will it be a profession where flyable ships can be made at novice? That'd be a bit silly i think. But if they put it at a suitable level to reach for each tree, am sure it'd beat architect for being easiest out of the crafting professions to master (due to the amt of resources no doubt that will be needed to build the parts). Now what I want to know is, seeing as they're letting Ship Engineers customise the outlook of the ships, can't they allow us Architects to customise the outlook and design of the different houses?

Definitely new profession Ship Engineer. Hoping it requires Engineer 4 and not master artisan.

Im also curious if there will be a bass engineer profession, and then an elite one or two. To me a basic ship design tree, then an elite weapons, shileds, engine class would be cool. But we start to get too many professions.

It would be right to drop it off on a other prof, what do architects have to do with spaceship design+

As mention before soe have already given hints on this will be a new prof.

Aye, Shipwright. And I beleive anything but master artisan leading to it would be moronic, hence you will probably only need engineering 4.

Taken from the IGN interview.

IGNPC: What sorts of players will have access to ships? Can you give us a brief example of how a player gets a ship? Are there any special maintenance concerns?

Haden Blackman:
Again, just like nearly everything else in the game, starships will be built by players for other players. So, gaining a starship is simply a matter of earning enough credits to buy one from an in-game crafter, or finding a friend to build you one. We believe that an entire new market for artisans will open up, and the rate of player advancement through the ship-building profession will determine how many (and which types) of starships are available on any given server at any given time.

...not sure what other two profs will be).

I think one will have to be Ship Maintenance, at least I hope they are way more sophisticated to buildthan the bikes that we are currently building. I think repairs will be a big thing and will not be as simple aslanding your ship next to a Star Hanger and clicking on Repair from the circular menu.

why should MAster Artisans get it....they are BELOW novice of the real professions...all MA's are are noobs or peopel with a collection of noob skills....they should get nnothing else added to them,,,its like having a high school diploma as opposed to a college degree....its like added the most bad pistol of all tiime and giving to a master marksman as oppsed to a master pisoleer...but that is another topic

From What i can make out reading all the "official info...

You buy the SE

When you load the SE your charcter will geta an ADDITIONAL ser (not MORE points per se but a new set) these will be usable on the NEW professions that you will have open to you for buying the SE...

i would surmise that there will be a new catagory of shipwright..just like there will be a new tree for pilot...

If they add it to the current professions, it believe it should be an extension of DE and DEs should be renamed to just engineers....

It definitely will be a new profession running off Engineering 4.
