Thread: Start stocking up (TC publish 18 change expected live w/c 13 Jun)

TH missed a patch note that is potentially going to affect Architects even more than the 5 crate OMU's.

Player crafted lights that reach 0 lifespan will now become "burnt out" and no longer provide light.

So, start stocking up on candles, desk lamps, table lamps and free-standing lamps as all over your galaxy when publish 18 is released there will be many, many people needing replacements for lights they bought months ago, and now need to replace every few weeks.

(I am filing this as a /bug just in case it is unintended, but the description of examined lights is now "burnt out" and so it seems intentional)

They only burnt out if you picked them up and moved them, now even if you leave them where they are they turn off.

Now we need Crates of Fresh Lightbulbs. Something that works the same way a droid repair kit does, so people put in fresh lightbulbs. So of these arrangements are a pain!

Yep, nobody really wants to replace the whole candle/light, especially if they made a really nice display with them.

So, while this was a bug, it was a good one. If its going to be fixed, then they need to make lights and candles experimentto amuch longer lifespan or they need to make these "charge" kits to revitalize existing lights/candles.

Lights can experiment to at least most of a month. Before I knew any better I would make candles and such last for about 28 days, and im sure they can prolly last longer than that. Of course I figured out that in reality it didnt really do anything since lights of all kinds nevery really burnt out etc.

Also, the new increased demand will help us out alot, credit wise. Im looking forward to it.

I figure this will backfire and ultimately hurt us.
People like decorating their houses in a specific way and once they get everything positioned they don't want to mess with it again until they decide to redecorate.

Unless there is some sort of "lightbulb" introduced into the system that lets people recharge their lights without requiring them to pick them up, people will just decide that lights are more trouble than they're worth and will stop buying them.

This was the danger of them when they were first introduced, but the fact that they never burned out unless picked up was what gave them longevity.

I agree. They need to introduce Wax Refills, and Lightbulbs. As I know you have all seen, the part of the fixture that produces the light is just a small part of the overall piece. The candles have a base, the lamps all have a support structure. We should be able to craft disposable and renewable kits for them all. Pop a new candlestick into each of the Dearic style candles in your house one a month. Replace burned out lightbulbs in your floor lamps every 60 days, etc...

That's especially true for intricate designs in houses. Home show designers don't want to carry on replacing things every month. Far too much hassle.
