If i'm not mistaken this macro that he is asking about is all done ingame through simple commands like /nextcraftstep or something like that. What's wrong with someone using something built into the game? How is that defeating the system? or exploiting?

I reached master in the first month of live on my own grinding... and rest assured if I had this I would of used it.

so you're a telling me.. an ingame function (this case critical failures) as annoying as they may be..

It's okay to by pass it if there is a bug?

That's an exploit.. i'm sorry.. it allows you to not only not lose say 50k on a large house.. but to make 120k.. only a differance of 170k..

tell me.. would you be upset if combat had a sink in it that could be bypassed?

An exploit is an exploit.. and I hate those that use them because they ruin games for the honest gamer.

More seriously I'm not an architect so I don't care but it seems to me that magicaly the crit fail bug appears only on the final combine of large stuffs like building ... the kind of stuff you can't seriously make with a schematic to run in a factory (who made a factory run of city hall yet ?) ... so as factory prevent Critical failure, it would sound logic that forstuff so big that architect don't makethem in a factory, you could avoid crit failure in an other way ...

Just my 2, out of the profession, cents

I have never used this, but after 2 more crit fails last night on large harvesters, it sure is tempting.. nothing hurts worse than burning up all that 950+ material as well as all the **edit** walls.. I am SO tired of making walls.. and when I lose 6 or 7 or 15 from a crit fail, that loss is as much a disappointment as losing a 95% ore unit or 1200 950+ UT HR SR steel..

I thought they addressed this exploit shortly after it was found.. I distinctly recall some patch notes that said "fixed an exploit where a prototype could be made from a critical failure on assembly using macros"

However, I am so annoyed at having to click 'back' when I crit fail (It is insulting to have to back out of that screen after losing all the resources) that I am thinking that if the devs cant fix something that used to work fine, I should take advantage of it.

I understand the concern, however if I had not been able to recover on my Crit when making my first City Hall I would be bankrupt and SOE wouldn't have any of my money.

Talk about lossing your Ass in one fell swoop. Prices currently reflect the fact that users can recover from a fail. Once that dissappears, which it will. Say goodbye to pissing and moaning about prices.

if you loose everything on one failure you need to rethink your sales prices or find new suppliers. However if they do ever get around to fixing this all the part timers that only trained up construction (you know the ones that dont know they need houses 1) will probly drop architect on the first failure giving people like me more sale opportunities

I use it without hesitation. Though not on anything that i want to experiment on, like harvestors. We have never been able to figure out or have had explained to us what exactly causes critical failures. You could be using the crappiest resources and its an amazing assembly then do the same exact item with the best resources and its a failure, there is no pattern to it. So until the devs explain to me why a master in the craft fails on the things any novice can make, or how a large house can completly disappear during assembly i'll use the exploit.

I've used 1000 OQ materials before, only to get not one but 2 critical assembly failures consecutively. Afterwards, using crap 50 OQ materials goes without a crit fail for a week. Go figure.

And yes, I've taken into account what the schematics look for.

Actually, I get enough critical fails manually that I don't need to have a macro to increase them.
