Thread: Are Fusion Gens at 13/14 ER here to stay? if so, look for higher power costs.
If your subcontract minerals, why harvest radioactive at .50-1.0 cpu when you can get 3cpu at the same extraction rate using a bit of energy?
It was good when gen rates were 13 and heavies 7, with this boost, the price of power should certainly rise, and those who stay with 1cpu pricing for power are losing money. (opportunity cost?) If others want to stay at 1cpu I will gladly be filling orders for in-shift 500K steel in the near future at 2.5cpu.

Hmm am I wrong in thinking that Fusion have always harvested at that rate ?
Harvesters extraction rate got increased but Fusion always harvested at that rate...
So maybe it's the mineral price that should go down instead....
I mean now that players can harvest twice as much as they used to you would expect the offer in minerals to exceed the demand.....
What exactly are you talking about? Fusion miners have always had extraction rate of 13, right? The one I have, post-patch, is much higher. Certainly makes mining radioactives better only needing the one. One thing I didn't notice is whether maintenance rates went up too. Did they?
Fusions were fixed at 13 for a while. Then when the experimentation on them first came out, some were experimented much higher than intended, which was changed almost immediately. From that point, they were experimentable up to 17, but that took skill tapes, but with good resources masters could get 16s. Then after the monthly update, most come out at 13 again, because the experimentation on the generator itself wasnt added. This LOOKS like an oversight, and I imagine we will be able to get to at least 17 again, possibly up to 20 once the experimentation on the final combine gets put in properly, But thats just a guess, as there hasnt been any official word on this so far that I have seen.
Last night my fusion deed said it was 15.
It was made before the last big patch.
I have many at 16 - however I cannot see selling radioactve any cheaper than 1.5cpu if minerals are selling at a minimum of 3cpu on most servers.

There are some fusions out there with 25/28 rates on Bloodfin - I'm shocked they haven't been nerfed down.
Ditto on Kettemoor. I've got one that was actually the first fusion I ever made way back in July. This guy was the STD fusion rate until the experimentation hit, then it shot up into the low 20s. I consider it even since the patch bugged 5 of my other fusions to useless 5k hoppers and crappy extraction rates, so much so that I had to trash them.
Here's the deal as I have heard it:
My experience pre-patch was that (without tapes) 16 was the best you'd get. I have a couple 16s running now, though I have heard stories about tape-made fusions that were way out of line - mid 20s.
Past patch they messed up (almost had a heart attack when I heard that), fusions ruto 13 now, but they are supposed to run to 19. Somebody put a 7 (to max at 13) where they meant to put a 13.
Ibelieve it will be fixed before long from AAs comments. I hope he's right.
I just made a 14 fusion tonight.
I have one fusion that is 24. It is nice to sit on a 50% and still extract at 12.
