That says a lot. Chefs got a great revamp. The chef profession was in the grave before that revamp.

Don't you think "revamp" is a bit extreme? Other than the lack of repeat sales, I think Architect is in pretty good shape. If part of the GCW revamp gives Archs the ability to create faction structures, wouldn't that fulfull pretty much what you want?

Revamp may be too extreme but I would like to see us gain some abilities that are architect related:
Interior designer: ability to go in and change colors for walls, possibly change floor texture.
Exterior painter: ability to custom color the outside of houses.
Add ons for houses: some type of add ons for exterior gardens, or patio improvements. Maybe a garage, workshop, or hangar add on.
Have our experimentation mean more. Let it affect maintenance rates on houses, efficiency of factories, input output hoppers on factories.
Colorization of furniture during the crafting phase, not customization kits that wear off.
More of everything, more plants, more furniture, more lights, more art, new houses, new sizes of factories......
Something I think would be awesome would be new assembly line factories. These would allow you to set up a macro for your factory sort of. Put in schematic for subcombine one, subcombine two, subcombine 3, final combine. you then put in subsections of the input hopper for the resources for each subcombine. It would run them in order, and shazam you get finished products.
I think there are enough little tweaks and new things we could ask for to call it a revamp.

I don't think macro ran factories are something we'll ever get. It is currently pretty easy to make items in factories. There has to be some work involved and automating the whole process would make it way too easy.

Actually he already did our 'revamp'. He did the player city publish. So yeah, we already have been revamped in a way. I guess we get back in line.

I hope and pray that some day we get a profession revamp. I have a combat alt who is a smuggler, and what is being proposed sounds awesome. If you get a chance look at the smuggler boards, and lets all hope that Green Marine gets put on our issues.

Yeah he was in charge of Pikeman before he got pulled off of that and Keldarin put in charge. Please anyone but Keldarin! Even that know nothing Chrysalia (normally in charge of crafting mechanics, but will not play an armorsmith/weaponsmith/etc. to actually see how they work) would be better than the actually detrimental Keldarin.

Actually, we do need a revamp.
Think about it, what other crafter uses the amount of resources we do, but gets little return on his investment?
Our crafted items, with the exception of our 'Lamps and Candles' have no other value to us than a one time sale.
What about our structure storage needs?
Just about everything we build should be looked at again. From the number of resources used, to the ability for decay.
I really think our class should be looked at heavily, and possibly positioned for a tune up/ revamp. Don't you? It should be much more than just 'giving' us something else to bide our time. And that includes us being able to possibly craft GCW Items, and if you want my honest opinion of that. I doubt we'll ever see it happen. If we do, it'll be a very small addition.
Folks, I want to be positive here, but there is so much I see that needs to be addressed that it's hard to look at the bright side of this until we do have our proffesion looked over from head to toe. I can't see why we would be happy with the way things are right now, when it costs us so much to make what we make, and get so little in return. We have more sub-components to deal with, and so many resources that get poured into one item, that there is absolutely no reason why they shouldn't take a longer look at our proffesion.
