NO Support = NO Trust = NO Game

Well last night I watched a couple of houses with over 100 days of maintenance on them disappear and the houses go poof. One of those houses had 14 million units of the best organics and water ever to hit the Tempest server and they are all gone now. That's a good 7 months of resource collection activity, all gone. Initially, I thought the player holding the houses may have deleted their character, since that was the only activity that made housing disappear almost instantly. But after some research and noticing that MANY of my houses were low on maintenance I see that the super maintenance eating bug is back.

On top of that I wasn't the only one. A good friend lost every "rare" item off his vendor and his house during this patch phase. In addition, I am on Teamspeak now with a guild member who has been spending the week getting his overall house maintenance on all of his characters houses to maximum so he could chill for a while. He's even been telling us the progress with each mission run to Dathomir. Now CS.Live.CSR_AmandaT is telling him that he never paid anything into the structures whatsoever and she sees nothing wrong. Oh, but can she stop looking at the structures since he obviously was wrong about that one. He's gonnaeat 700k of maintenance. Right after he mentioned this I went into a house I had put maintenance into an HOUR ago and it was 6411 credits required to repair.

So, who knows. Maybe when I log in tomorrow after I calm down there may be nothing left anywhere and we have to either quit the game or act like the majority of the playerbase and just get everthing from running missions from now on.

But, SOE, you have really really let me and this playerbase down with these problems. Honestly, I hope when you look in the mirror and think about all the people that support your work and I "assume" your dreams, I hope you get a real good happy feeling inside when you know how much you've gone out of your way to screw people over. I've spent 10 months supporting your product and company through payments and customer building. I have 7 character accounts in my family and I'm probably only going to keep the necessary onesalive to support others in game because I just can't put up with the lies from your "online support" team and the wanton neglect you have had for data integrity. You're either unprofessional in your technical understanding and implementation of data structures, ignorant or completely malicious to your customers. If nothing else, if you had raised resource stack limits to 1000K there would never had been a need for any other storage outside my personal characters. But, then when I think about that, you would have burned my house down as quick as the ones that I was maintaining maintenance on and using for storage.

Every player in this game should know and understand SOE does not value anything aboutthem whatsoever. There is no trust and absolutely no integrity with the data structures in this game. I don't even understand why they have the SONY title in their name. When I call SONY Electronics about a problem with anything the people are courteous and knowledgeable and go out of their way to help me. When I call SOE or submit a ticket or go in the chat room I always end up frustrated through the myriad of ways that the CSR community goes out of their way to not help me. The pinnacle, of course, if the moment they get to say the mantra, "it's a known issue but it is against our policy to replace anything". Ultimately I don't blame any of the CSR staff. They obviously know nothing about the game at heart and have been set up for failure by your managements inability to train them correctly.

Oh, and we really likedhis othercharacter with the AT-ST being warped to 0,0 right after the CSR checked it out because he was trying to deal with the maintenance problem. Was that a brand new *feature* or a CSR tantrum?

So here I sit on Teamspeak and watch my favorite crafting character on the other computer. He's probably done more than your developers ever imagined any character would in the architect world. And I was really starting to get into chef and trying to enjoy that part of the game. I'm talking to 8 people on Teamspeak that comprise another 23 accounts, so that's 30 accounts including mine. All of us are extremely disillusioned by losing all these resources that we ALL worked to gather. Heck, one of those guys with 3 accounts I was begging not to quit after your system destroyed his factories with the maintenance bug not 3 weeks ago. Now we just don't know. There's another11 people in our core group with a total of 30 accounts. That's 60 accounts in our core group. 60 x $15 =$900 a month. My guild has probably 130 members consisting of 50 real world people last time I checked.130 x $15 = $1950. That's not a bad amount of change that I've worked for over 10 months to bring together as a cohesive group for your company. Not to mention one of the largest crafters on this server was going to quit the game afterahouse full of the best stuffhe had was deleted by someone else and I talked him into staying and helped him get back on his feet. But, alas, none of this means anything to you. I'm sure as long and the Jedi players are happy, you're happy.

If you have any commentary or need to contact me send to Fivo or Cafa on Tempest. I'm pretty sure the few of you that read this won't find it here for long. I welcome any PMs on the matter.

/bump,I am so sorry again Fivo, damn SOE and their messed up CS

First the Nazis came for the Communists, I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. After that they came for the Trade Unionists, I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. And then they came for me, but there was no one left to speak.

to Much continued Beta action for me.

Just hanging for JTL (which i have just decided i wont buy right away, as they can't seem to get anything right first try), then if it blows i'm off to a game with stable Game Mechanics and (if i'm REALLY lucky) perhapes Open Devs who see the value of Explaining those Game mechanics instead of SOE costant NERF behind the sceans syndom.

I WAS going to make EQ2 my next game (seeing as how this one just keeps getti ng more bugged as time goes by) But SOE is really continuing to screw the pooch. They chased me away from EQ 3 years after it started..I had assumed they would have Matured in their CS as they have been around a while now.....Guess I was Mistaken.

Time to find a new company to finacially support. SOE has dropped the ball way to many times, and has learned very little over the years. DAOC (Mythic) has at least a good CS and Game mechanics..might go back to it.

I am horrified that you lost so much. I recently put 15days worth of maint in my factory only to get a message in my email at day10 to say that my factory is at 32%. **edit**?! My other factory which I got NO email on was at 5% and about to explode! This is BEYOND rediculous! And something has to be done about it. Other wise whats the point of doing a crafting profession if everything you work hard for is destroyed? That would be like a Bank bug where it slowy eats away at whats in your account. ITs really rediculous. I've already quit this game before. I just hope It wont' get to the point where I have to again. Most of my family and friends play this game and have had complaints mostly about CSR's. Heck, I even have friends that WON'T play SWG simply because they played EQ and were burned. They will never play another SOE product again...and I can't say I blame them. I will not be picking up EQ2.

I lost a house with months of maintenance on it, and about 60-70M worth of resources, rares, and other goodies with it. Cancelled my account a week later after I had time to think about it. If everything we work for and invest our time and care into can disappear due to a bug, I choose to invest my time and care into other pursuits.

I hope you get your stuff back. I gave up trying, and after a year of playing my account expires at the end of July. I actually feel good about that.

Hey, I feel your pain. I'm so sorry you lost soooo much My daughter and I lost a large house months ago and it had everything we had worked so hard for in it - maintenance had been paid, and there was no reason for it to burn up. We were in total shock. I had paid maintenace on all our structures at the same time, and the CSR "found" records of everything but that. There was no reasoning with them - they were condescending and totally disinterested in our plight (in our desperation we talked to several different CSRs).

This game has so much going for it to have such lousy, lousy support. And it's been a year now - it is not improving at all. We just have to decide if we love the game enough to stay or hate the caviler, adversarial attitude of the support staff enough to quit.

This has happened to several people on Starsider as well. Most of those who have had such problems, have had large quantities of higher end items in such houses/factories. This isn't a joke. This isn't some scam that so-and-so is running hoping to take advantage of whoever is willing to help. These are PA halls filled with vendors, with millions of resources disapearing. These are houses filled with countless Jedi related equipment going poof upon server start up.

I know many of these people. And I sure as hell know that someone with 30+ mil of resources on 5 vendors has better things to do, as opposed to spending months on trading lots/harvesting resources only for the same to disapear without the slightest acknowledgement from the devs/csr's.

It has been a long while since I realized that the CS department is nothing more than a pacifier to keep the majority of the players from crying all the time. I often wonder why its so difficult for lost items to be replaced. Its probably very easy to track down the disappearance of an item and to negate it, but I doubt that the CS service department is able to do it due to programming incompetance and lack of authority. I wish that SOE would get some actual programmers in the CS department and give them the authority to fix issues related to bugs like this. Its nice when they give you credits, but oftentimes the amount given is not worth the value of lost item(s). I have heard of these things happening and I can truthfully say that if it were me, I would quit unless I were reimbursed in credits at the very least. I hope this turns out ok for you in the end.

Your post makes me mad beyond recognition, Cafa. Customer Service in this game is mostly a joke. I'm saying mostly because there seem to be a few helpful CSRs out there... which makes me evenMOREMAD because it shows that the CSRs saying "it's against our policy blabla" are obviously just flat out LYING to us.

This is my most recent CSR story: I got a reply to my ticket saying "We do not reimburse for player error". What happened? Well, I bought four suits of armor from a vendor. The armor was stored in backpacks.

I wasn't too concerned about space in my inventory because a patch note shortly before the incident said "Fixed an issue with items disappearing on retrieving from a vendor when there is no room in the player's inventory.".

Well, guess what happened? Only one suit made it to my inventory. The other three went poof because there was no space left in my inventory. But, hey, it was my fault, right? .. Sure, I shouldn't trust in patch notes and always check that my inventory has enough space before retrieving items from a vendor, right? Totally logical... playererror... nodoubt about it .
Besides, what's so hard about reimbursement? I didn't get the items (they should be able to confirm that by looking at their logs) and I lost a ton of cash. Shouldn't even be a question to just /tip me [lost_credits] ... /sigh

We lost a mall with several million credits worth of stuff not to long ago.
I still maintain that we had to have had MORE than several days left on the structure.

We recovered, and it was painful, and ended up being able to plant a nice big generic PA instead of a Tat PA.

This time however, we paid the maintence up for a YEAR, took screenshots, and zipped em into a folder, and burned THAT to cd.

Go on.
Destroy my mall again. I DARE YOU.
Bring it!
