Finally made Master Arch - then tried to make some heavy harvesters for a customer.

Final combine 1 - Fail

Final combine 2- Success!!!

Final combine 3 - fail

Final combine 4 - Fail

Final combine 5 - FAIL again.

I go over and re-deed an existing heavy to give to the customer. My next success will be used to create a factory schematic - I just hope they don't change resources on me too soon.

It's been rumored that the quality of your crafting tools has some bearing on the success of the construction.

I don't know how much creedance I'd put into that theory, but in your case, it's worth a try.

I've also heard that the material quality has some effect, but I haven't found that to be true.

The materials you use have an effect on the maintence of buildings, of that I am certain. Whether pass and fail rates change, I don't know that but I am very effective, failing once out of every 20 times or less.

I'm using the best crafting tool that is makeable and using the best possible materials.

I agree whole-heartedly! I made 3 Personal food/chemical crafting stations and one Structure crafting station, complete with droid storage compartments, and all other optional items. I failed 3 in a row for the food/chemical Station, then got lucky on the architecture station.

To top things off, if you examine the station, you read about the input hopper that you can access on your tool, that gives you the ability to store resources in, so you don't have them in your personal inventory. This is broken also.

And, finally, I was using a 91% effective structure crafting tool, that I made myself.

Anyone else having this?

If you fail a lot, it is because you don't have the right quality of materials for your item that your making. Usually that is the reason you fail so much or others do.

A tip- For general items, don't look for advanced materials for a general material , for example, your looking for aluminum, phyric aluminum rather than like titanium aluminum

I have furniture 4 which gives me 35 in structural assembly went to make a general factory i failed

5 structual modules

1 generator turbine

1 manufacturing mechanism

and the finally factory combine so yeah i think your structural assembly skill means absulutly nothing i went with furniture 4 first so i would not fail as much now i wish i had not have wasted my time with furniture

When you say that, which quality are you talking about? I know that structures only seem to care about Unit Toughness. I was using a siliclastic ore for awhile that had a good Overall Quality score, but I didn't notice at first the Unit Toughness was like 27.

My failure rate seemed really high. When I switched to using a Carbonate Ore with an overall quality of only 110, but a Unit Toughness of over 700, my failure rate really seemed to drop. The biggest change I could see for sure was the Experimental Durability of the structure blocks went from around 2% to around 14%. I switched to using half and half on the ore and the average Durability dropped to 10-11%, and my failures are still low.

This is only anecdotal of course, and my sample isn't as big as it probably should be. But I've made a couple factories and a number of houses, and failures are definitely down.

I use a decent toughness ore, and I've heard that toughness affects failure rates. Now I have furn IV and my decent material(I think around 700 toughness) and I don't fail nearly as much as I used to. And yes, furn IV does make a diff on your success/failure% and it looks like toughness might as well.

I was using steel, aluminum, copper, and ore all with a unit toughness higher than 700. i was using a crafting tool that i made myself that had a 70% effectiveness, and a 60% durability.

i failed on 3 wall thingies, half a dozen structure modules(would have been more but i only needed to sccesfully make two for my factory schematic), i failed on two generator turbines, i failed on a power core unit, and finally, i failed on making the PA hall itself.

WHAT THE **edit** ARE YOU THINKING DEVS!???

i got so pissed off last night, i went out and killed like a hundred or so creatures, whatever was in my path, slaughtered! good thing is my pistol xp is now 35k+ toward spec

I dont think any of us really havea choice as to what materials we use. With resources changing every week we have to wake up at 3am and plant harvs on the ore or we are out of ore for the next week. Its not like we can all go out sampling for 190 hours straight just to get enough of the Uber ore to make something and not fail. Or better yet, spend 4 days trying to find the Uber ore, then spend 2 days trying to find a spot that a harv can be built on, only to have the ore spot change the next morning.

No, most of us have a hard enough time just trying to get ANY kind of materials...we really dont have the option of choice right now.

If it is the luck thing, then I'm sorry to here it.
