Thread: Week Three List of 5
Here are the 5 issues that are being considered for the 08-08-03 report.
Increased Storage – All houses, regardless of size, have a capacity limit of roughly 250 items. The major culprit attributed for this is items on your vendor counting towards your item capacity. Factory crates are also space hogs, each crate counting as 5. This spells trouble any class which that require large amounts of identical components (pretty much all artisans). It is not uncommon for a high level crafter to own a second home just for storing crates.
Re-balance Harvester Schematics – A few of the medium and large harvesters aren’t quite in proportion to others. Medium Mineral calls for 3 structural modules while Med. Gas and Med. Chemical calls for 3 wall modules. Solar Harvester don’t require structural or wall modules at all. Listed below iare a few harvesters and the total amount of resources required for each.
Medium Flora – 21070 total
Heavy Flora - 24400 total
Medium Mineral – 3607 total
Heavy Mineral – 27770 total
Medium Gas – 12115 total
Heavy Gas – 22495 total
Medium Chemical – 12115 total
Heavy Chemical – 24490 total
Medium Moisture – 3865 total
Heavy Moisture – 7990 total
It appears that the resource requirement for a Medium to Heavy is doubled. With the exception of the Flora and Mineral.
E-Mail Notification – Add a Structure setting that allows players to receive e-mail notification when a structure is out of credits, power or if it stops running. A set of options would allow players to determine what constitutes an e-mail notification. This would give players some warning if/when a structure stops or begins to decay. This could also be useful if a player forgets where they placed their structure.
Blueprint Display on Deeds – Attach a top down blueprint of each floor and the layout of the house to the Deed description. This would give the builder and buyer a clearer idea of what they’re getting. This would also prevent griefers from scamming innocent buyers. It doesn’t need to be fancy, simple 2d icons of what each floor looks like would be sufficient.
Houses – If at all possible, please separate the house models for Corellia and Generic so that they both have their own distinct look. Also please allow players the ability to place Naboo-style houses on Rori and Corellia-stile houses on Talus.
You'll notice a few changes.
First I am no longer wording these lists as the Top 5 concerns for the Architect profession. It seemed that many were confused or had thought these lists were reflecting the "Top 5 all time concerns in the history of Architecture". These are simply the 5 most vocal concerns for this week or from last week.
You'll also notice that I have the first two reports stickied at the top now. Please read or re-read over them.
Q3PO has requested that Correspondents use a form he distributed for Report submissions. The form is set up so that I will get a chance to remind them of past issues without using up spots from that week.
This game is produced by professionals. They do not need me to re-send them the same list, hounding them over and over asking them to fix us. I want to use what time I have to continuelly move forward with our Profession and it's issues, I do not want to dilly dally over issues that have already been submitted for their review.
Please refrain from starting new threads asking about,
- Structure Assembly/Experimentation bonus
- Factory Crates
- Admin for structures
- Harvesting Mechanism
- Lamps that provide light
- Critical Failures
These issues have already been submitted to the Devs for review. When we get word back about any changes or denials, then we can go back to discussing what needs to be done. Please try not to linger on these subjects, yes, the present is important, but we need toview our future as well.
Also I should explain reason why I was reluctant to continue this weeks report. It appears that there was some confusion between the Correspondents and Q3PO, only half of us have been receiving his e-mail updates, this may be why you have read some information from Q3PO on other profession forums. I was able to clear up some of what was going on by speaking with the other Correspondents, but I have not received any word from Q3PO as to when they will be ready to accept more reports. Even though Q3PO is asking we not send the reports in just yet, I will still continue to conduct Correspondent business as normal. I will finalize the report and prepare it to be sent on Friday. On Sunday I will post the pre-liminary list for the next report and we will continue forward with our Profession and it's needs.
All of your concerns will be heard. This is the first run of Correspondents and there are bound to be some small issues that will arise, such as communication or lost e-mails. Q3PO has asked for only 5 issues a week, and that is the amount he will receive, no more and no less. If he had asked for an entire list of what needed to be addressed then I assure you it would have been sent.
Do not be disheartened by the seemingly lack of response. Your concerns will be, and are being, heard by the Devs. Please try to remember that we are not the only Profession here, and there are only so many Developers to go around.
So, lets continue to move forward.
If you have any comments, additions or removals to the 5 issues listed above, please reply below. The Housing issue is tentative and may be replaced.
Sincerely,
Mitsudo
Good list for this week, keep up the good work.
I like the sticky lists from the past 2 weeks, good idea.
Thats all fine and dandy zarcoth
may I make a suggestion ... well I am going to anyways
Bugs should be considered a single issue with a complete list of current bugs.
then include 4 ideas for improvement or balancing etc.
just my 2 credits.
This is already partly addressed in the new patch, where all items will have their original name attached to prevent griefing via misnamed items. Floorplans would be nice though. And since it's new art, it wouldn't have to take too much time away from the devs working on bugs

Only in the most technical sense -- they get paid for it.
I'm really quite surprised how things have gone since release. Raph and Kevin especially ran a top-notch beta program, and although I knew they'd have to slack up a bit with community involvement when release happened, their complete lack of presence, or 'official' statements, is horrid.
And, nothing against you, Zarcath, but personally I think giving them more ideas, when there are so many things that need to be fixed right now, is pointless. It'll just get lost in a stack of papers.
So, no input from me until something is actually fixed.
Increased storage:
This is not anArchitect issue this affects everyone.
Rebalance harvester schematics
This definately needs addressing along with the way to complex heavys increased complexity is necessary but not to the degree they are now. Good one.
E-mail Notification
Again not Architect specific this affects anyone that uses harvesters.
Blueprint display
Again this is not Artitect specific just helps prevent scammers.
Houses
Again not Architect specific affects anyone buying them
Your reports are well written obviously you spent some time on them but 90% of the issues you are reporting are not Architect problems they are general problemsthat affect anyone. Need to address the real issues. Im sorry if this sounds critical but im seeing you NOT report issues which we are bringing up and need addressing rather like this report 4 of the 5 are not even Architect issues they are issues that affect everyone basically.
Zarcath is there any place where we can view the response by the Devs to the correspondant's emails?
I mean.. if they're not giving any feedback, this whole system is a plocebo, and we're kinda "urinating into the wind" here with all this insightful brainstorming.
The current bugs, and isssues we have already discused, but are not yet fixed, should be the main concern. No new stuff till the old stuff is worked out...
Odiss
Until they decide to start responding, my account remains cancelled and I will not renew. I don't give two flips about their inability to use e-mail or if they are understaffed. They have known that their CS has sucked since day one, yet over a month later we see no signs of imporvement, just things getting worse.
Devs no longer posting
CS Tickets being reduced instead of handled
Patch overdue with no word on status
The corospondant system put in place, devs point to them and dissappear
My patience is done, they can either get their %#$ togather, or be the second major MMOG to have to consolidate servers. Maybe they need to glance over at Microsoft and learn something from AC2.
I have no comment on week three, seeing how they could not even be botherd to respond even one iota to weeks one and two.

what about:
- Structure Assembly/Experimentation bonus
- Factory Crates
- Admin for structures
- Harvesting Mechanism
- Lamps that provide light
- Critical Failures
AND YOU STILL FAIL TO EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THE FACTORY NERF.......even in the things you dont want us to talk about...
I want you to find out WHY they will not fix the harvesting mechanism....it seems like an easy fix that could be hot fixed any morning...its going on 5 months that it has been reported and its still isnt fixed.
I think you should also refuse to send in any more reports until they give you some answers on the real issues..
