Thread: A fond farewell.
Well I've given the game 2 weeks since I said that I was giving it 2 weeks, and we haven't gotten our feedback, and there seems to be no "quick" end in sight for the lack of content/fun. I cancelled my account last night. I may return in a few months after the larger issues get worked out, but I don't want to pay for beta anymore. Hopefully when I return, the nerf bat will be broke, and things will be balanced, and there will be much content, and all will be good. Doubtful, but I'll keep monitoring the boards.
Please no "don't let the door hit you" flames. I'm not threatening to quit, or whining about anything. I already cancelled, and I'm just saying farewell to the board.
Cya all.
Enough with nerfing of things that work while letting bugs go. It's BS
I'm just regretting (stupidly) paying for the six month membership. I effectively lost my ability to protest. Otherwise I'd be joining ya...
For the record, the fact that it's beta still isn't what pisses me off. What pisses me off is the horrendous job that's being done to "fix" everything, and thereby making it worse. What pisses me off even more is the almost nonexistent dev presence on the boards (although it seems they're starting to poke their heads in a bit lately).
Anyway, sorry to see ya go. Don't let the door hit you on the...just kidding :-)
As I have said before, it is IMPOSSIBLE for the door to hit anyone in ass on their way out, there are too many people in line for it to close!
I love loved being an architect, I have enjoyed the business and have amassed a rather vast fortune at it. But lately I feel like my character has lost direction.
I started doing the static quests lately in my spare time, and I have not used the Master Architect title over my head for some time now just to keep the number of orders down.
Today my guildmates announced they want to support a member to become a Jedi, and they think that I have the stubborn tenacity to do it.
I have agreed with them to do it, I used my first holocron ( I have several in storage ) and am about to embark on a totally different quest for my character.
I have enjoyed each and every one of you.
I am, as of today out of the architect business, I am building stocks of extractors and buildings for my guild to use in the future ( that will take me weeks ) and then I am going to retire as architect.
I bid you all a fond farewell.
Last piece of advice, remember who you work for, you work for your customer, the guy that gives you the money is who you should do all you can to please. A loyal customer is worth ten times the profit of any one sale.
Good luck as you start the long and winding path to FSCS. Gonna miss you as an arch.
I would like to offer my farewells to you, and with you.
My journey since release took me to Master Architect and Artisan. I have held steady in the Master ranks of these two professions for about 4 months, and feel its time to make the change also. Leaving the profession will not be easy. But, my goals are finished. PA Hall has been built for months, our player city is built, and I managed to get plenty of harvesters, extra houses, and suchbuilt for my comrades.
Now I leave to chase the Jedi dreams, like so many others. I resisted as long as I could, but 4 months of non-stop manufacturing has weighed heavily on my "fun factor". Being in manufacturing in RL, its more like working 16 hours a day than working half, and playing half. But I suppose being the sole architect in a city of nearly 70 people is bit much for anyone to enjoy for very long.
I would like to leave the profession with a little advice for the newcoming Architects. Most importantly, do NOT let yourself get brought down by the holo-chasers. The market for structures is a hard one to live with. Prices are not generally what you would expect them to be, but stand firm. Keep lots of components on hand, and when someone balks at your pricing, simply respond with "But I can deliver NOW". People in this game are generally more impatient than frugal, and I have found that immediate availability is far more valuable than the simple cost.
In closing, I want to thankthe wonderful people of Chilastra, especially those that have resided on Rori. You made my business thrive, and made me feel important. For my regular clients, I do hope to return to the trade after I finish my quest. Until then, good wishes and safe journies.
Good luck to you
Well have fun on your new path and your always welcome to come back once you unlock that FC slot.
Good luck Dalyn.
As a parting note, I can't resist this.... you work for yourself... never forget that... but customer service is everything ![]()
Heh, seriously though been fun reading ur posts.
Cya
Not cause of the holo thing (Tho i will be working on it) but i have been a architect since week 3 of launch in hopes that they would give crafter some fun things to do other than build. i mean face it we have not had any updates in months they cant or wont even fix the critial failures master should not fail and if they do then it should be a rare thing like man when was the last time i failed IMHO if your a master at something them your the best you cant get better.
any way im not leaving yet maybe a few more months but i feel your pain im tired of running for my life trying to place harvesters and such i want to do something exicitng and if that what i want to do then i must retire cause it surly will not come from the developers i mean look it took nearlry 4 months to get us a holo tho they promised us crafters we would have ways of getting them with out having to have a ton combat skills.
i mean we have not had any new items to build since player cities like diff types of furniture and so on
What they should do is a quest type system for us things like Npc missions that give you schmatic and if you build the item ina timely manner and deliver it in a timely fasion you get to keep the schmatic and then contiune building it and so on.
