Now before you flame me read on.

20k for a dx2 carbine that will decay next week.19k profit.
5k for a small house that will never decay..... no profit

Who is the smart one?
Personally I think anyone that remains an architect is a blithering idiot.
Pick another profession and have fun for a change.

What, you waiting on Urban planner? Grinding up the tree to get to become an Urban Planner?
Go back to reading or watching movies.. Its a fairy tale. Only elite, large PA's will be making cities.
There will again be no profit in it. Only Master Archietecs in those PA's will be building anything. Only for the Mayor to place.. WOW. Loads of fun for the architect......

All I see on this board is "so and so is undercutting" and "lets all stick to a price list" etc etc etc.

You are in a profession that is for personal reward only. People living in the house you built and
sitting on the furniture you made. Also the devs dont care about you making a profit.
Thats for the combat crafters.

Stay an architect... learn to live with disapointment..

ok now flame away

Not a very tactful post, but you have some good points. Here is another perspective for you. I can make any Master Tailor outfit using a little over 300 resources, easily sell it and buy 2 of the 5k small houses......

I would agree. Master Architect is more for personal enjoyment than profit.

I am having a blast as an architect, if I wasnt I would do something else. I could make better moey doing other things, but arhcetect is more fun, more chalanging to run a business in a declining market.

More fun to watch the old timers squirm aa new blood comes in and squeezes profits where the older ones cant.

If you don't like the job then go do something else. No point in attacking everyone else here cause you didn't enjoy it.

There is a never ending demand for guns.. people need them. People dont need houses, so houses have less value. Dont necessarily HAVE to sell anything to stay in business. when I got no work to do I grind faction points and make money that way. And yes I like my profession. Having lots of money is just a stress reliever.

I dont

Besides when another person cant make it in a business that you are doing very well in, it sort of tells you something anyway.

Oh goody, someone I can actually talk too with a few brains.

Viper, it isnt that I like pain.... it is that I like the fun of a chalange.

Ionly get nasty when kids like this one bark , he certainly has no bite. Heck I have raised 4 and and putting the last two through college now.

My prices are not as low as some, mine usually hover just aroud 3cr per resource right now. But money on one saleisnt the only consideration for me. I need a name with my customers and thier friends so they will actually wait for me to be on-line to do business with, so far that is working.

If I wanted it easy I would just sell my resrouces, but selling archetecture in a declining market is more fun, it is a challange, and real world business axioms seem to be working. Deliver quality, and a low price, alwoays give a housewarming gift for free along with a sale. I generally give a couple of the potted trees. Make it personal, visit the house of the people you sell too, by all means buy something from them if you can.

Make customers that remember you, ones that reccomend you to thier friends.

You may not agree with me Viper, but I think you acutally understand me.

Well it's not personal, Dayln. It's a game, glad you understand that.

I wouldn't actually complain if someone is selling for 3 CP/R, but I've never seen you quote that, all you ever talk about is how selling for anything over 1 CP/R is profit, and it's not. That's just the harvester maint. Add in travel expenses, because everyone has to go between some planets for their resources. Add in your Structure Factory costs to make items, the maint to run the fusion gens that power your harvesters. The resources that you couldn't find before you went to work so you had to buy them off the bazaar.

All those things add up to WAY more than needing 3 CP/R. You will eventually find that out. If your business stagnates for a period, and it will, believe me, you will be scrambling for cash to keep your harvs running.

Please also note that you can sell the resources on the bazaar for 3 CP/R. That is the amount you should start basing your prices at. If you go below that, you're wasting your time, and that's what is really ruining architect. Your prices are affecting our fun. Yes, you have to be competitive, but there are other ways. Being the Structure Walmart isn't going to make you any friends, which a MMORPG is all about. Your customers won't respect you either, because alot of them know what you're doing.

Architects deal in bulk, but we don't care at all about the quality of our resources. Weaponsmiths deal in high quality resources-- they need to in order to make quality weapons. High quality resources are worth more -- more creds / unit -- so naturally the guns should sell for more creds / unit also.

Stop whining, stop flaming, and start thinking just a little bit. It's a player-driven economy, which means that these forces are based on some real in-game economic properties. In this case, they're based on the fact that people will pay more for higher quality guns. I can easily find a "bad" dxr2 on the bazaar for 2k creds... a "good" one I will gladly pay 20k for.

If you want to fault the system you should cite the lack of quality differential in structures.
