Thread: Fair & Simple Pricing

I'd like to just share & explain the pricing methods I use. The pricing is far and simple. If everyone would use the same or close then there would be so much less complaining & discussion on the subject. Of course in a perfect world....

The pricing method I use is like lots of others have stated at 5x credits per resource, but I also round up to the nearest mulitpler of 5 to make simple numbers & to help off set crit failue costs. I take the item with the highest resource of a specific "type" of building and base the price off that. I will list them below

Building - Materiasl Needed - x 5 cred / per resource - rounded to nearest muiltipler of 5

Personal Harvesters - 250 - 1,250 - 1,500
Medium Harvesters - 3,607 - 18,035 - 20,000
Heavy Harvesters - 27,770 - 138,850 - 140,000

Factory - 13,550 - 67,750 - 67,750 - 70,000

Small House - 3,888 - 19,440 - 20,000
Medium House - 23,600 - 118,000 - 120,000
Large House - 37,134 - 185,670 - 190,000

PA Hall - 63,602 - 318,010 - 320,000

Considering that you cannot even buy resources on the market for usually less than 7 credits per unit this pricing structure is more than fare to both architect and buyer. People also have to realize that it's not just a flat out 5 credit per unit that the architect gets to put in their pocket. There are harvesters to pay for, time invested & critical failures to make up for. If everyone would use this or a very simular pricing structure then things would be so much better.

I'll never understand why some people will cut their nose off to spite their face.

I so love the no edit features on this board. I also love that I'm an idiot and can't spell FARE isntead of FAIR

For your server maybe.. but it is different for every server you go on.

The house prices are too high, no one on eclipse would ever pay that.

Plus 7 credits per unit is adsurd fo resources.. I generally get what I need at 3.. sometimes 4 if I'm desperate. (because architects can use 'any' resources, stats are not important 'at this time').

Trying to set a standard pricing is nuts.. don't worry yourself over it

The economy do not seem to balance. On the odler servers they are tanked. The friends I have that started on day deleted their master whatever charcters to come join my newer server because of failed economys.

The problem is the skill up race. We sold smalls for 20k and mediums for 100k. Now enough novice architects are in the market small houses sell for 15k. If we continute to follow the trend of the "Day One Servers" small houses will seoon sell for 5-7k.

When we reach the point the economy on my server is destroyed in such a way I will switch to playing for the PvP battlefield portion of the game for a few weeks to try it out then cancel the account.

I wish it was that way on my server, but small houses are 10k and mediums are 55-65k. Plus, so many guild architects are selling at cost to guild mates that turning a profit is hard.

saw a guy shouting that he wanted to buy a medium house

i asked if he had 118k no prizes for his response

"what a RIP OFF" i said well its 5cr per unit and etc he goes ahh but people are selling for less

architechts are the problem not the economy

I guess we'll always have threads like this since people don't seem to understand that different servers will have different economies. Despite the fact that the basic world is the same on all servers, the resource levels, types, and distribution are randomized.

This means the economies have already diverged and some places have much lower prices than others. I charged 12k for a small house last night on Gorath and I felt lucky to get that much. They've been going for 10k, but resources all just shifted and there's no really good ore or steel left, so prices will go up again.

Anyway, you'll never get price agreement from even 2/3rd of the players, so this sort of "collusion" attempt is useless. The best you can hope for is to control the market in your little corner of the galaxy by maintaining a strong presence.

I hold strong at 5cr/unit. This is a cash price only. I much prefer they pay in resources which allows us to advance skill or make a little more selling the resources. I can't believe how people argue and whine so much over the price when they have no clue what goes into these structures. I think its time for a galaxy wide strike! Hehe No housing for you! Come back 1 month!

You may have been joking about the strike.. but um.. what about a union? An architects union? It might help level out the economy for all of us across the board.

Just a thought

Great, next we're gonna have the Architect Pricing Police (APP) posing as buyers trying to bust us for "not conforming to the Universal Architecture Pricing Policy".

And if I don't choose to join your "union"?

You gonna prevent me from being an Architect or selling strutures?

Oh..I forgot...you'll send the APP after me.
