Thread: SMALL HOUSE COLLUSION SIGN UP!
I just want to say that as architects we should really get involved in interplanetary collusion!
Scince we cant do it in real life legaly this is your chance to be part of a UNIVERSE WIDE
price fixing situation. We should be charging between 20 and 25k for small houses!
Who's with me?

I just looked up how many resources it took to make a small house: 3344. How can you justify charging 5.9 credits per resource?
The cost on the harvesters is not 5.9 credits per resource. Your skill in building a house is not worth that. These aren't even hard to find resources. Any resources that fit the requirement will work. Sure, some may be hard to find ATM but not enough to charge 5.9 credits per resource. That sounds like a rip off to me.
I hope your joking.
No. I'm not joking. I may be dramatizing but I'm not joking.
5.9 credits per resource is a really good mark up. I really think the good players out there are mining for under 1 credit per resource.
I'm not one of them but I that's how I think they are doing it.
That is obsurd. You didnt go to the trouble of becoming an architect to just sell the resources. The only reason we are in this position is besause our brother architects put us in it.
Think about what you are doing. Dont sell things for the cost of the resources! It took time and money
to become an architect. That is worth something! Small houses are 20-25K !
I will say it as many times as I have to!

Everyone mines resources at the same cost base cost. The only difference is someone may of gotten lucky and taken alot of timeto find a really high (80-90%) deposit of a resource. The player's skill has nothing to do with it. In making buildings ore is generally 2/3's of the material needed. If your lucky you can find a 50% deposit. If your really lucky and explore every inch of the planet you might find a deposit in the 60% range. If you have the time and money and check all the planets you might find a deposit of 70 or even 80%. But on average most people are mining ore at under 50%.
Prior to the patch on Tue it was possible to mine resources for less than an honest architect by building them putting 1 unit of energy and then letting them burn down.
Osoc, I appreciate the sentiment, but collusion isn't the answer. Unfortunately the economy is still broken and being tweaked, partly due to macro sampling allowing people to get free resources while the sleep and work. Hopefully defaltion won't take hold and cause house prices to stay at 8-9k.
Anyway, I still think 15k for a small house, style 1, is a fair price. Remember that although a house lasts forever, maintenance is around what, 2000/week? Not much, but armor has no upkeep cost.
Ah, armor does have an upkeep cost. Armor takes damage over time, and needs to be repaired often.
Nice idea, but then theres always people like this:

I don't want to hear anymore talk about resource costs per item made. The simple fact is, people will pay 25k for a small house, so that's how much I'll sell it for. Sorry, Xader, but you're argument is non-applicable in a market economy. Fair or not, the guy next to you will pay 25k, so you'll have to also, if you want a small house. Architects have to pay maintenance, now, and there are the daily expensives of just playing the game that we have to pay, and it takes a lot of effort per house, so I see no problem with colluding to keep a few insane power gamers from driving the rest of us out of business with their low-ball prices. Also, Large houses, cost 10 times the resources to make, so if large houses ever sell for less than ten times what a small sells for, I'll make more profit selling small. Then, when less people are making large, hopefully the price will go back up to where it's worth it for me to make them.
I will sell a small house for no less then 15k. If someone wants to buy for less, I tell them good luck in their search, and like in RL, if you look long enough and hard enough, you will find the bargain. I manage 28 lots for my resources, and between my harvesters, factories, house (small btw), and vendor, My daily maintenance runs 30k. Now on top of that I will spend about 6k-10k on the bazzar, or with other players buying the additional power I require. (Medium harvesters aren't cheap to maintain) I also spend about another 20k buying misc resources if they are available. Don't forget training, thats another 9k on average for every visit. Sure I could search th galaxy trying to find another architect to train me, but I will still spend 4500 on the tip, for I always tip half of what it was going to cost me from an NPC. More often however, there isn't anyone on to even make the attempt. (that has the skill high enough) So now my daily output is at a minimum of 69k if I conduct business as usual. There are many other misc factors that play in here, such as I will get slain at least twice a day checking on my harvesters, or critical failing three times in a row attempting to make a turbine generator for a factory, or how about failing on the final product after you just exhausted all your resources. (no income on a sale if you cant produce a product) I am not complaining in the least. I run a very good operation and find that I usually have more orders then can be filled. And as long as that continues to be the case, which I believe it will, I will not lower my prices because someone "thinks I am ripping them off". Unless you are an Architect, you have no clue what I go through each day, just as I have no clue what a weapon or armorsmith goes through each day.Ihave a vague clue to what a tailor deals with, because my wife is close to getting her Master Tailor.Bottom line is everyone has a choice, pay it or dont pay it.Mychoiceis to stand firm on my prices, as I think over then next month or so, you are going tofind the rest of thearchitects, will be forced to do the same, or go find a newskill path.
