Ok ... I need to set the stage for this post.. Because it is going to be pretty blunt.. Part of this comes from frustration of the last 10 days of hardware issues that I am finally resolving..

Someones Comment Got me to thinking.. and it is a comment that is not uncommon... Pretty much it was

Why spend all the effort to Work on new ideas when there are so many Game hindering issues that have been taken from us to the devs already and nothing has been done about them ..

Three issues have come up in each one of your heads that have been involved in this forum since the beginning and I am sorry .. but that is in my book unexceptable.. I like this game.. I see the potential and am excited for it.. But maybe we do need to take a moment and pause.. fix what is already issues before we add new items with their own new issues..

I am pretty commited to this game.. I am not the type that likes to hop from one game to another.. But the reality of the situation is that there is quite a few impressive competitors coming out right around the corner.. From what I have seen your loyalists will be patient for new content as long as they know it is coming.. What seems to ware on those who are loyal are these issues that should have been fixed long ago continuelly getting oversteped.. I think that is what we should do .. Hold up these issues that I am talking about and pretty much say We are all for the new development path.. But These need to be fixed First..... ( I will post what I mean by tomarrow morning my time, after I give you all an opportunity to react to this) To me if these were fixed first it would go far in restoring confidence in this whole system of Player Feedback.. Also to be quite frank.. There are alot of great compitition coming out in thevery near futurethat will try to pull us loyalists away .. and if SOE wants to keep us they need to reaffirm their commitment to us..

So what do you think..?? Do you aggree?? Or should I just walk out my office take a big breathe of fresh air and count to ten ... ?

Agreed. Fixing the broken stuff should be the highest priority.

If they want to add some new content in the big patches then I can understand as they probably want to keep folks interested with new stuff. But they shouldn't continue to forever ignore the broken stuff while doing so.

This is a great idea, but to make all architects happy (just thinking ahead).

3 out of 5 of the top 5: already in game items that need to be fixed.

The other two: New things to be added.

Cant wait to see the OMU's in crates (maybe we should be able to crate the already made ones )

I think you are on the right track. I think that we actually need to see some of the severe things fixed for TWO reasons (and I think that you should pass on these two reasons in your report):

1. We need to actually see them working on fixing bugs that hinder our gameplay and that are constant annoyances (or worse) to us.

2. Equally important is that we need to see that they actually *LISTEN* to the players. In a way this one is even more critical to me at least. I'm a software architect and developer - I understand the types of tradeoffs that go on here, and now some things may not be as easy to fix as they might appear on the surface, so I'm willing to give folks the benifit of the doubt. However, looking back over all of the "top 5", "10 questions", "requests for comments" etc that have gone on for nine months, I have started giving up hope that the concerns of the players are being heard at all. So I'd like to see some action on these as proof that there is a working communication channel to the developers. Right now I honestly don't think we have a viable communication channel.

Agree - some of this stuff has been broken for way to long (some have always been that way). One problem is that the temptation must be there for SOE to say "well, they have lived with it this far, why bother fixing it" and they go off and work on new stuff to bring in new players to replace old players who have quit in disgust or despondance (or more likely both).

Finding it increasingly hard to fire up the factory these days and only work on Architect when I feel like it or someone slings me an order (which is getting rarer and rarer in these final days before the grind goes away).

Some of the things that have been let go, have I think been let go for way too long and will never get resolved. And then when they do give us a ray of light, they took it away from us all after a single day .

This gets my support, as stated abovethere are things on a few of the lists we compile that are clearly broken, or at least do not function as we believe they should, the devs have heard of these before so these should come as no surprise to them. The one stipulation I would make is let's try to get time spent on fixing meaningful things. There are things that are broken that IMO are not really detracting significantly from the gaming experience, whilst other are, so let's get the REAL issues dealt with, then maybe we can move on to the new stuff we want.

This probably won't be a popular statement buthonestly, does harvester anime really matter to most of us ? This should be championed by Merchants or somebody who really uses Harvesters in their business (would be miners if that profession still existed). On the other hand the OMU issue, whether it is a bug or not, NEEDS to be addressed as it is an Architect only issue.

That's my 2 cents worth.

Absolutely positively yes. The "Top 5" are just that - the top issues, and the longer they persist the more important they become.

I fully support this approach - make at least one of the top 5 a request for something new, but put the primary emphasis on broken issues.

IMO the "Dev"'s should only be concerned with fixing issues that need to be addressed, until these are resolved all new content should beon the back burner! I just recently purchased this game and started playing. I do this for recreation. If it stops being fun, why should I waste my free time and my money, when I could be persuing other interests. Look at it this way, if you were a business and you had purched a software package and it had these kinds of issues would you be happy, would you even pay for it. I think not. I don't know anout the rest of you, but my free time is fairly limited so I try to make the best use of it. Waiting 6 months (or more) for basic issues to be fixed seem to be a little too much.

Dvnce, I would suggest you get that breath of fresh air and 10 count... but when you get back stick to your guns and tell

the "Dev"'s that we need these issue fixed A.S.A.P. and then we will gladly talk about new content and ways to improve gameplay.

Well today is a good day .... I ordered all the hardware for me to build a new cpu.. I am going to see what 2 1/2 pounds of gun powder will do to my old cpu this weekend for all the stress it caused me this last half a month..

This is what I think I would like to submit to the devs as our Official Top Five Response.. what do you think....?

We of the architect community are all for the path of new content heading our way ... BUT ... to make this game better you must Pause and fix a few things that have been broken since the beginning that are affecting our game play and will always effect our gameplay... Proove to us that what we say really matters by Fixing these 3 brokenissues asap.. and addressing the 2 Issue requests..

Issue #1 Broken: We want ALL items created in a factory to stack to 100 units... (ESPECIALLY ORE MINING UNITS which dont stack at all)

Issue #2 Broken: We want expirementation on final assembly of Solar and Fusion power generators Enabled..(these two are the only two harvesters we can not exp on..)

Issue #3Broken:System Manufacturing error #7This is a Factory bug that auto stops factories while eating resources before factory has reached 100 unit capacity ....

Issue #4 Request:. All GCW faction perk Items should be craftible.. Instead of actual item a player should be buying a one use schematic from faction recruiter with their faction points then having the appropriate crafter create that item ...

Issue #5 Request:.. The majority of architects Wish Color crafting of furniture to be implemented through crafting process like tailors /BE/and AS .. active poll is here..
Ongoing Furniture Colorization Poll
