Is it not easy? All you need is some ore and some cheap copper/alum/steel and you can grind yourself to master in no time.

You can make 31k exp for 1 factory.

You get 500 exp for every structure module you build... lets see... a large house... 10 wall modules.. thats 100 structure modules = 50,000 exp + the exp for all the other combines ona large house. How much exp does it take to get intermediate? 55k. advanced 77k. lvl 3 99k exp, expert 121k XP.

Why are there so many master architects? PA's generating tons of resources gvie it to their PA architects they can make it to master in a week or 2 easily.

Ralph Koster... and I quote... "Over the advance professions, the most common ones, a lot of people (and this is something we didn't forsee and think about, 'cause we were stupid), was a lot of unpowered up architects in order to get their guildhalls. So architects is one of the commonly advanced Masters."

There you have it folks, the basic reason the market for architects is so bad.

Keep in mind your speaking for those that have strong backing that doesnt play the game for fun they grind to the top with out thought. I am taking architect path and i am not grinding i am playing like a person with a life would play... try gettin master architect with out 50 people devoting 24 hours to your everyneed to level you and do it... i dont think you could do it.

I am in it for the love of being an architect. Im not a master yet, but almost there, I could be one right now if I burned through my current resources, but thats not much fun, I wait until I get requests to make things. I mine all my own resources and enjoy doing it. I do charge a bit more than the norm for my services though, and rightly so, I work hard for it.

But my point is, this coming from someone who didnt powergrind, I see reaching master architect too easy. Quite a number of people who made it to master quickly are now dropping the skills for various reasons, one of them I think is boredom. You master a profession too quick and you bore yourself out with it. Add to that a low profit margin(created by the same people)and you get retiring architects. Which is good for me.

I thought it was fairly easy.

I did it twice, once in beta and once in the first weeks of the live server. Being the man that would get The Resistance their guild tags, my goal was to do whatever it took to level as fast as possible. Our impossible goal was to be the first guild in the game (we weren't I think we were the 3rd on our server, and one of the first rebel guilds in the game). I had our whole guild behind me helping out, though are guild is relatively small (10-15 people per day during max times). Still I rarely if ever had more resources than I could use.

Grinding wall modules until the ore ran out, then grinding crafting stations till the metal ran out, I was able to get to master in a little under 2 weeks.

If I wasn't the pointman for the guild and was soloing, it would have likely taken me under a month, and that is with no grinding whatsoever. Arch is special in that you can advance just fine making stuff you will eventually need: walls being the main thing.

2 weeks at hyerspeed. 1 month at my normal speed. That is WAY too easy.

I have a 62 enchanter in EQ. That chr took me 2 years. And he is not maxed. By comparison, a double master in SWG is like getting an EQ enchanter up to level 30. Not all that impressive IMO. Way way too easy.

I have now comeplted my second master (weaponsmith) and I am working on my combat skills. The game is getting a tad old, but I am hanging in there for the content. I do all the quests as they add them (and I find them), and will be a regular on the PVP circuit now that my grinding days are over.

I do NOT plan on being an Urban Planner.

Yes getting to master architect is relatively easy. But I honestly think I could master any artisan class in 1 week if I wanted to, so it is all relative.

The big reason is people wanted to advance to make pa halls and other large objects. I personally thought it would be a fun profession, but the money isn't very good.

I'd say it's both hard and easy to master architect.

It can be hard if you're soloing and have no backing from friends and/or PA's. Architects uses the most resources to make a finish product but sells the product for the least cr/unit rate. That could be devastating for a soloing character. Especially if the soloing architect is has little time play, so running destroy missions for him is not an option to keep the harvestors fed.

It can be easy if you're backed by friends and/or PA's. If you have enough resource coming in everyday and sufficient time to play, I can easily see anybody getting master in under a week. Then again, any game is easy when a powergamer is hard at work.

The fact that power gamer can get master architect in under a week or so does not make the profession too easy. There needs to be some consideration for those people who have less time to play the game.I am glad that SWG is not catered to the powergamers only. EQhas always been a booooring grind for me. Combat and crafting wise, everything about EQ is grind, grind, grind.

Well i speak for a person who has almost mastered architect with in 2 months of game play, it has taken alot of crafting to get here, and i really don't think it was easy, i mean I didn't have a PA hall with 10+ members running all the harvies and getting me everything, it was just me and my two group members Justiigood and Topdog up intill we added two more members to the CSC Corp Croup. But I can proudly stand here and say I have made it here on Hard Work and Dedication!

It was way to easy, so easy that it has zero value being master. That goes for all skill trees. Being master means nothing, anyone can be master in short time, in any skill tree. This is one of the realy big problems with SWG. What should have taken us 10 months, took us1month. There is nothing to do after you become master. Making and selling structures gets old fast, and you cant spend the money you make. What difference does it make to have 1 million or 10 millions or 50 millions in bank? None at all.

I'm between a casual gamer and a power gamer. I'm on every day for a couple hours at least, ( I wonder what having a life is like?), but I solo and do it all myslef. I have gotten a gift of about 3k ore once, and a total of 15k donations in money from generous people. I've had this character for about 7 weeks and I have Architect skills 0-1-2-1, close on Inst 3. As a solo player, I also have Pistol 4, RWS 3, Scout 3-2-3-3, Entertainer Dancing 1 & healing 1, Medic 2-1-2-3, and Artisan 4-3-2-4.

And still, yes, it's too easy. I am simply astounded that two weeks after launch there are master BH and Commando's, well, ANY Elite Masters!! This should not have happened. It should take, for the dedicated power gamer at least 2 months to get to that level. Regular players should be working on it for 6 months.

Yes of the crafting artisan professions, architect is the easiest to get to master. However for the loner architect it will still take awhile to master.

It is too easy imo.

I played the game solo, with no friends in game to help and no guild. Starting from scratch, I played around til I got to engineering 4/novice pistoleer. This took me a week. Then, it took me 8 days from there to master architect.

8 days to master, solo. That means running my own harvesters, selling off the houses, and buying more resources to craft.

8 days, fine. But how many hours? 8 days to me probably means a lot less time than it does to you. I might only play 10 or 15 hours in a week, but i know people who easily put that in each (or some) days.

Also, a lot of the early Masters got there by getting full XP out of their Factories. Don't forget this. I curse the changein factory xp every time I get sick of grinding, cause some days I just want to be done going up this tree, and I hear all these stories from the Master Archi's on my server about the "good old days" when all you had to do was throw ore at a factory to level up...
