Thread: 250 Limit on Housing Still in Place

Is there any indication when this will be lifted? I share a large house w/ a friend and it's silly that multiple small houses are more efficient than one large.

3 small houses = 450 items / 30k roughly

1 lg house = 250 items / 155k

This is getting to bea real hassle, any word whatsover where this issue stands? I was hoping for something in today's patch but no such luck.

That limit was not temporary, that is the way it is, like it or not for the forseeable future.

Lot Usage:
All Smalls are 2 lots except for the Small Naboo Style 2 which only takes 1.
All Mediums consume 2 lots
All Larges consume 6 lots
All Guild Halls consume 9 lots except the Tatooinian which take only 7.

Item Capacity Formula: (Lot #) X (75) = Y
Item capacity caps at 250 items regardless of higher lot use. Most smalls thus allow a max of 150 items, same with mediums. Larges and PA Halls all hit the cap despite consuming more lots than the formula would allow. The Devs did let slip that they will consider in the future increasing the item cap for the Larges and Halls providing the database will permit it.

250 limit for a PA Hall is not reasonable especially when you consider that the account that places it cannot be used to place any other houses for their own use.

be happy they decided to give us a *break* by giving us 75 items per lot instead of the 25 items per lot that they thought was in place for the past month...what the hell are they thinking

I agree that the 250 item cap is pretty ridiculous...we can't even decorate our PA hall effectively, mostly empty rooms...how is a 250 item cap able to support a huge PA? most of the times, i don't undertand what devs are thinking...

I don't understand what everyone is complaining about. Items on your vendor don't count against the 250 total. What are people dropping to be running out of space? If you aren't in the business of selling things, why would you need so much space?

I know there are lots of resources, but can you really be using 150 different types?

Have you ever been to a guild hall setup as a cantina? Or even just a decently furnished one? Each lamp, each chair, each table, each permenant instrument, each bookcase/dresser/nightstand/bed takes up an item. The main room of a Tatooine PA hall can easily take close to 100 items to furnish. Not everybody wants to buy a small house and drop one lowly vendor in it, some of us want houses/pa halls/cantinas that people walk in and say "WOW". This is a requirement for a Entertainer PA hall. Personally, I hope they raise the limit to 400-500 items for PA halls, even then I think we could fill it.

I used up 9 of my lots to put up a PA Hall. That left me with 1 lot for a flora farm. I would like to see this increased to 12 maybe 13 lots. I am a Creature Handler and a Bio- Engineer and I do not like having to have to put all my personal stuff in the PA Hall. i.e. supplies and samples. If we had an increase of lots I would be able to have my personal house and the PA Hall for the separation of personal and business. Hope this makes sense. Im also a Dancer and I hate having my clothes out for everyone to see. I know im not an archtect but I wanted to put my 2 cents in. Thank you

I doubt the item limit for large houses plus will be lifted in the near future, if at all. It was intended by the developers that only merchants would be allowed to have more than one house. But the fact that anyone could have as many as their lots would allow wasn't realized until way into live. So now anyone can have way too many items than originally intended, causing havoc on the databases.

I think that housing limits should be gradually implemented toward something low so that the database issue will be less of a problem. This would also be a much-needed boost to merchants. They are the ones who need stores in many places and would be able to utilize the many houses. It may be too hard for the community to be limited to just one house each (even over the course of a long time), so perhaps two would suffice. I don't see why a character would have the need for so many items anyway, especially with the way many items stack, as well as vendors now working properly.

The 150 item limit is ridiculous. I recently moved into my medium house and immediately bumped up against the ceiling. Had to destroy half of my furniture to get all my crafting supplies moved into the new house.

Just another way of screwing the craftrers.....

the current item liimit on houses is not a permanent fix. its a temprary fix, they posted somewhere that they were having database issues and the first temproray fix that made it like 75 units was ridiculous so they upped it while they do a permanent fix. i dont remember where i read this but it was a dev post, if i get flamed ill prob go look for it to prove it LOL. or not

Actually Darksheer, they said the 75 item per lot limit was a "bump" over the originally planned 25 item per lot limit. They did say they were going to look into ways to expand it, but gave nothing indicating what that might be and no timetables as to how long it might take.

In all honesty, I'd say it will be a while as they planned the databases to hold enough space for people to have items in the total range of around 200 or so items, if i recall correctly. may have been a bit higher than that.

Also, for those using the bugged npc vendors that don't charge the normal rates for your "holding area", there are plans in the works to get those fixed. I believe the rate for a vendor is around 3200 per day for every 100k you have listed on your vendor. Doesn't sound like a lot, but hey, thats 21k a week for that same 100k in listings... be prepared for additional costs for storage if you do this now!
