Thread: Merchant tents for player cities only?
Someone just told me merchant tents are for player cities only. Is this true? i was under the impression that anyone could place a merchant tent anywhere...

Blink. Blink. I'm still trying to wrap my head around declaring one as a residence.
What's the maintenance cost like? Does it have a ban list? Can you drop anything other than a vendor into it? And can you transfer it to someone who doesn't have Efficiency IV?

They can be placed in any buildable area. I put one up outside my shop. Not anyone can place them, though. Takes Efficiency IV from the Merchant Tree to place them. Other than that, they're pretty cool. Act just like a small house. You can even make them your residence.
Are you sure? is this your personal experience, or second hand experience? My wife is a tailor on Corbantis (Boboski), and she really was excited about merchant tents...

I have experimented with dropping one in buildable areas, but never actually placed the deed. It looks like it'll go most anywhere a house will go. It's just got a smaller footprint.
You can place the tents anywhere. Tried it near entha on tatooine and now have it on dantooine.
You have to have merchant effciency 4 to place it: Maintenance is about 8 per hr.(is only 1 lot)
You can make it a residence in a player city, allowing you to vote for mayor.
Crafting the fibreplast panels can be individual, but the reinforced fibreplast panels must be from a factory crate.
You can put friends onto your admin to allow them to place vendors, But there is only enough room to put three vendors.
There seems to be a bug where when items are placed, vendors included they disappear. They do reappeasr some 20-30 mins later. Sometime you have to do a complete log.
