Thread: How to stop Crit Failures
This only works on items like houses, walls, etc. Won't work on furniture. After you crit fail on an item, you are left with a screen that has all the ingredients filled in but since you failed andcan't continue, correct? WRONG. Don't hit the esc key. Create a macro that states this:
/nextcraftingstage; /nextcraftingstage; /createprototype; /createprototype
When you fail and are stuck on this screen, hit your magic macro button. It will kick you back to your inventory screen and it will produce your item like you never failed. I hear there is a small chance that you can fail again but I have never had any failures after the first one. I never worry about failing anymore. I failed on my first ever Factory and about gave up on crafting.
This will probably be nerfed by the Devs though, so enjoy it while it lasts. Hopefully they will fix our 30k resource crit failures before nerfing this. /wishful thinking.

No, get your terms straight!!! ( read this as sarcastic )
A "Nerf" is when something that helps me is changed be it an exploit, feature or a bug.
An "exploit fixed" is when something that helps someone else is fixed.
Yes, this bypasses the experientation dialog.
This is not an exploit. It is a simple macro using in-game macro commands to make crafting easier on the wrist.
The side effect is it greatly reduces crit failures.
That's not an exploit. They created the macro system for just this purpose. To help reduce carpel tunnel, etc.
How can using the macro system they designed be an exploit? It can't.
Scortch,
I think you need a better definition ofwhat an exploit is. It's something that is part of the game mechanics which allows you to play in a way that gives an unintentional unfair advantage or manipulate a flaw to your own benefit. Because Critical Failures are part of the game (as crappy as it is)using a macro to bypass this intended event and give you a "leg up" is an exploit.

I for one was thrilled when i discovered this Macro, i wish i had just gone on the Web page earlier and read it however. Because before this i had crit failed on 2 Large Mineral Extractors, 3 Large Chem Extractors, 1 Large Tatooine House, about 4 medium installations total, and enough Wall moduals. Since I've used this, 0. It saved me from going bankrupt. And I say if we took the time to learn about this game enough to creat macros like this, GREAT! Thats just another awesome aspect to this game. If they decide they want to change this, I say they fix all of the real problems and bugs they have with our class first. Just my 2 cents.

Be forewarned. I only used 2 /nexCraftingStage lines before and always lost my resources with no product being made. Someone posted a macro using 3 /nextCraftingStage lines and it works perfectly. This is using generic tools or structure tools.
/nextCraftingStage;
/nextCraftingStage;
/nextCraftingStage;
/createPrototype;
/createPrototype;
I know the above owrks cause I have made TONS of stuff with no crits.
Enjoy this while you can as I am sure the Dev Team will change this when they get wind of it. Hopefully they won't change this until they fix the bug that only gives us +55 assembly at Master.
i have been using this for about 4 weeks now, i knew some one would ruin it and post it some day... now that i dont play on my arch anymore due to its im possable to sell a PA for a decent price...i retired
yes it does work, but no experimentation, oh too bad experimenting dont matter with structures!
lol
Guys...this isn' t an exploit, bug, or anything. Why do I say that with such confidence? Well, simple, I've critted using this macro.

Just to clarify a little more. I put all the materials in the places they needed to be placed, and then pressed the function key assigned to that macro. No countdown...nothing ever appeared in my inventory...and it was quite obvious that all the resources used to make this item were gone.
It doesn't prevent crits guys.
