Thread: What are your prices?
I got some prices off the boards a while ago. When someone asks me what are my prices they go crazy and say its too high. Plz if a few of you could post your prices so I can know what would be a good price where both the buyer and seller go away happy. Thank you fellow architects.

I do 3 credits per resource on houses and installations and round up. On furniture i do at least 5 credits per resource. But truthfully it doesn't matter how much you charge you are gonna get complaints. My best advice is keep a little note tracker next to your computer that lists how many resources everythign takes and when someone complains about your prices tell them how many resources that item takes. then tell them if they collect all teh resources for you you will discount it.
so don't worry about what the person replys to you about your prices. don't deviate they are just trying to rob you. I even had a guy tell me i was crazy that i charged 3 credits per resource, and that everyone else charged 1 credit.
Sometimes it's more interesting to come up with a price scheme that involves the rarity of the resource (does it need metal or steel? Does it need organice or hide, or wooly hide or dathomiran wooly hide?), your skill level (is it an artisan item or an architect item? Novice, mid tier, master?) Price of failure (If it has a lot of sub-components the total resources are going to be higher than just the base, almost guaranteed. But the chance of losing everything is the same for every item no matter how many subcombines).
Mostly, though, you can set up a couple different areas of your craft and charge on that. The architect I'm partnered withis, at the moment, charging 3.5cpu for structures and 4cpu for furniture. I ask 7-11cpu for my smuggler gear.
Were I to start selling architecture, I wouldn't charge less than 5cpu, or perhaps I'd come up with some other way to assuage myself. I know I could sell my resources between 3-4cpu without breaking a sweat. Add in the amount of resources burned while skilling, the % lost to failures both pure (sometimes I'll lose the whole thing) and percentage-based (if I'm making 100 subcombines a certain number are just always going to fail), and the time - both what it took me to get where I am and what it'll take me to make the items I'm selling.

where did you get those prices, blackpearl?
Not that I dissagree with them, just trying to figure out how you compute the price of the item
Everything starts at 6 cpu. Which is a 100% markup on cost price of 3 cpu, bazaar price of resources.
Large houses are 7 cpu as they require one set of factory parts.
Heavy Harvestors are 8 cpu as they use 3 sets of factory parts.
Fusion generator is 9 cpu as they use 3 sets of factory parts one of which has a subcomponent which has to be created by a factory.
PA Halls (which I can not make yet) are 10 cpu as I am sure they are going toa pain in the ass to do. Identical power core units should be reason enough for this price I think. ;P
If people dont like these prices then I can sell the resources from mymines on the bazaar and spend my free time hunting/exploring/whatever. If people want me to make an item I am very happy to do it (I did CHOOSE to become an architect after all) but they will have to pay for my time and services.
do you actually sell anything blackpearl? 0.o I've seen medium miners go for 10-15k and large houses go for 160k max and medium houses for like 60k x.x

I just take the total number of resources required and charge 3.5cr per, rounding up. Since I harvest most of my own resources, that's enough to keep them all going and keep adding to the bank account. On the occasional need to buy, I search around for resources being sold below 3cr.
I also charge only 10% of the price if the person provides ALL their own resources. They also get a warning that if I crit fail on the final combine, no replacements. I do replace if I crit on any of the sub-structures.
