i dont like decay idea, houses hold for centuries in real life
but experimentation would be very good tho ![]()
and for the low selling idiots.. yes they ruin totally the economy of architects ![]()
they kids or just stupid ;/
pure resources are sold for 3 or 4 cr per unit everywhere average and that without any risk of failures , factory costs or skill needed.
so i cant really see, why ppl bitch about when we try to sell finished products with risk and alot time invested for 5cr per needed unit /sigh
i can only hope this low price guys going bancrupt or leave this game. that has nothing to do with businessman nor economy. a finished product has always to be higher price as pure blank resources.
why is that so hard to understand? ![]()
imo 5cr per needed unit on finished product, incl time, resource, failures, skills is a very fair price.
isnt it? /sigh
I think it is really funny when people complain about other people prices. It is like Macys saying those bozos at JC Penneysare selllling stuff too cheap and trying to ruin our busniess........... well yeah!
Welcome to business. if you cant stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. You didnt think business was all one big happy family did you? Business is war, and it is PVP war.
And by the way, I sellHeavy extractorsfor 90k, get used to it. I provide my customer with asolid product at a very competitive price, by doing so they repeat business with me and they send thier friends. I also know of a few people that sell for less than I do.
I am making very good profits, well over 400% margins. The only people that are not makeing good profits are the ones that believe in the fairy tale of resources costing 3cr per unit.
This is all the Architect's Fault, we did it to ourselves, or at least the first few per server did....
Look at the WS, they Charge high cpu prices..... true their product doesn't require our type of resourses in bulk to build, but the first person that came out with small houses that said 15k, ruined it from there on, if they would have come out and said 50K for a small house (like they should have) then everything would have been great.....
Same goes with the larger buildings..... You will always have people undercutting the prices, it is a fact of life, but I can say this much, they will never have needed resourses to keep up with demand at the lower prices, and if all they want to do is spend countless hours looking to buy more resourses at rock bottom prices, and then spend the other half of their time building just to fill 5 peoples order then let them.... The rest of us will have nice full inventories to make our money, when those others log off, and can't meet the over inflated demand they placed on themselves...... Then their price will go up, cause doing the same thing for 6 hours a day, 7 days week, for a few weeks people get borred, move on, drop skills, blah blah blah.... lol before it is all over only a handfull will remain, and they will have the market, thats when prices will reach the lvls they should, and with influx of players from play cards, to returning players that let they subscriptions slide, to people trying different races and what not business well be there, just not the noob boom of release......
The fairy tail of resouces costing 3-4 cr per unit. Let me tell you a little fairy tail...
Once upon there was an architect that had a business. To keep up with demand he had to buy things from miners. Being a generous fellow he employeed some friends that sold resources at a generous 2-3 cr per unit and on occasion 3-5 when even those supplies couldn't hold out. He mixed, he made, he critical failed. He sold his stuff at market price (2.5-4cr per unit)and made a very slim margin of profit after all was said and done.
This architect then stopped doing business with his friends except in emergencies and started a second account so he could get the extra lots to use. This makes him sad as he truely wished he could provide business for others but found that the risk of doing so cut way too deep into his pocket and he wasn't spending 4-8 hours a night for charity. Now he can labor into the night to turn his raw materials into things that fetch slightly more money than if he sold his raw materials =>
Yeah!
The Moral of the Story is this: The price of the finished product should never be close too or less than the price of the materials to make the product and the price of materials isn't the cost of harvesters, it is the value that these materials fetch on the commodaties market.
Fidg'Ter
And by the way, I sellHeavy extractorsfor 90k, get used to it. I provide my customer with asolid product at a very competitive price, by doing so they repeat business with me and they send thier friends.
You do realize that because there is no decay on our items that the people you sell to for cost or as you claim 400% (rofl) will not have to come back to you and will continue to make more money than what you charge per resource for the life of the game right?
Welcome to business and economics. By all means continue to sell for that price. But dont come crying when there is no market for our wares b/c people like you sold everything for a price less than what you could sell the resources for on the bazaar.
And if you really cared or understood business you wouldnt be an Architect...

See,

for thoughts on standardizing pricing.
I care very much about my busienss, that is why I sell for less.
I realise that unit there is decay, that the market will dry up soon. So I need every sale I can make now. The way to do that is to make sure my prices are competitive compared to others, I do that very well.
I know more about busniess then most here. The prices for resrouces in SWG are insane, My am harvesting them for close to .52 cr per resource, my overhead costs in re-deeding and failures are quite low compared to my profit margins.
I am making money, and gaining market space with new customers and old ones upgrading, new people come to me becasue other customers have told them about me.
There is nothing wrong with my business sense, that is why I am not the one doing the complaining. My business if fine, those that are compalining are the ones with a business problem. I am not afraid of competition and I can easily work with less than 500% profit margins.
Wait unitl it gets scary and profit margins drop to 100%,
Not true, I am the archetect in our group. Now selling large houses and heavy extractors at reduced prices.
We also have a Wesponsmith and a Droid engeneer. We will be shaking the weapon crafters markets very soon now
People don't seem to take into account the time it takes to a. get theresources. And b. Make the **edit** product. "I am harvesting them for .52 a resource". Well I'd love to know how you can mine enough low grade, metals, etc. to build a bunch of large harvesters, unless you are doing just one or two a week. If you've got a house or shop eating at your lots then it seems unlikely you can personally mine enough to keep up with any quantity of demand on heavy/large equipment/houses and keep prices based on .52 a resource. Perhaps you have many accounts anduse the additional lots, or switch lots with main characters on other servers. Because 6 heavys on a typical low gradevein might give you enough to build a couple large deeds per week. And you'd still have to get a hold of metals, reactive, aluminums, inerts, etc. Market Value is what it is, and 2.5-4 a resource is current Market Value per resource. Why? Buying the Harvesters, paying maintenance, redeeding, power. Do you not also take into account the hours spent running around between harvesters collecting the resources? The hours doing factory runs? The product itself?
I wish they sold DVD's based on the .10 cents per diskit cost to produce them. Based on your example I could load up my collection at $1 a DVD and the companies would still be cleaning house, right? I wonder whynone of the companies do that? Hmmmm... Could it be, supply and demand?
