Yesterday for a few mins the corespondent fourm got "Bugged" and was unlocked for all to see.

Well, I poked around and read this.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

>>Arjun,

>>Lets keep things in perspective. The devs are are doing a complete Jedi revamp which is going to take two publishes and basically leave a lot of professions in the cold before Space.

>>There are no changes that will take place between now and then and "its too hard" surely isnt a platform position I can defend. Besides the fact that you have a major club of power gamers who will try to pressure you into caving, the fact is, that the game is being majorly changed based on the player desire to revamp the Jedi system. AND we changed the Jedi Crafting process to address the rare loot loss.

>>What I might suggest though is applying your people skills. Guide them and help them learn how to share tips with each other and overcome the challenge. The hard truth is that there will be little else before the revamp.

>>Kurt "Thunderheart" Stangl
>>Assistant Community Relations Manager

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now how do you take this.... as that the devs don't plan on fixing the professions before space expansion or as a pun as space is cold?

I'm pretty sure TH remark was towards the SE. That means we could see many more frustrating months ahead of us...

But In either case. I think thats utter BS that they would put the rest of the borken professions behind the one nearly imposible profession to unlock that some people will never unlock during there entire SWG carrire.

The second phrase in bold shows that the devs arnt planing much else for jedi before those two publishes. BUT TWO WHOLE PUBLISHES! Comon people. Thats like 3-6 months!

Question, who is Arjun? Jedi corespondent?

As for the Space reference, it's capitalized, so it surely means the "Space Expansion".

Indeed, it would be a long time before any other changes.

Boy the DEs are going to be really pissed.

We might see some changes, but not much for another two to three months.

I've come to the conclusion that the Dev's haven't even started working on revamping the professions & the combat system. The fact that the Jedi are getting an immediate revamp shows you how the 'revamp' for all other classes was put in front of us as bait by the spin doctors to keep playing. Had no revamp been announced for the non jedi classes people would have been quitting in droves, but with the 'impending revamp' coming in 2009 it's keeping people playing with hopes that maybe their class bugs will get addressed before the end of the next millenium. Recently there was a post added to teh forums asking about the mix and match combat yadda yadda. This in itself tells me that they haven't even started looking at fixing the other classes that make up 99.9% of the player base.

Hey TH wanna buy the Corinado Bay Bridge? I promise that it's going to be for sale in the next couple weeks, honestly!

Actually, this is the best news i've heard in awhile. It sounds like the SE is coming out alot sooner than i thought. Though that doesn't help architects much, unless they're going to let architects craft space stations. how cool would that be?

Come on you would think the DEVs would of gotten the hint by the number of people who have left. But I guess not more people keep leaving before too long SWG will be nothing but a memory and they will be wondering what went wrong.

The only problem with this.. Is.. You got to also know the rest of the conversation.. some of our threads start on the forum.. finish ingame (yes we do have conversation with devs in game too) some information even gets handled via our own personal mail.. So those who took advantage of the bug that happened yesterday I warn you to be carefull with the information that you discovered because in many cases you only got a tiny part of the conversation , thus only a tiny part of the facts..

Yes. THe statement was taken out of context. We don't know the full story. TH's comments about some professions being "in the cold before Space" may be exagguration and / or it might be made with the assumption that the readers already know about other previously planned and discussed changes.

We really don't know what it means.

However if you're expecting big changes to architect in the 1-2 month timeframe then I think your expectations are off.

Our profession isn't too broken right now and the track history really shows that changes to architect aren't a huge priority for SOE.

Yes Pawlin You are correct about this guys statements.. and it does appear his goal is to spark controversy seing how he posted this in almost every forum..

as far as the other comment .. There ARE things in the works for architects.. Whether we will get them in the next 1-2 months I dont know..

When we compare our profession with others it is true .. ours can be said to be far from broken.. but ongoing development is a goal..

Far from broken??????? You're kidding right?

Lets take the holo grind madness away.. Now people don't need to grind thru an elite crafting profession for nothing.. Have you considered the effect of what the holo chase did to architect.. It was an economic boost to extremes.. However now that the market is much more saturated then it ever would of been without the holo-craze, what do you think is going to happen to the architect profession when people no longer have to hologrind with the new FSCS quest revamp? I'll tell you what will happen.. SALES of harvesters, resources, and factories will drop like a brick.. Given the fact that virtually all that you are sold previously in the mad rush to being Jedi are non parishable, I see Architects being very dead end shortly..

Good luck tho in your businesses when it happens
