I've played on my laptop from Campus at UT a few times while waiting for someone, a class or something of the sort. It's not all the entertaining but it's somewhere other than in front of my desktop in the privacy of my own home. I would do it more often but it just doesn't run as well on my laptop

I tried to login from the wonderful beaches of the Whitsunday islands in Australia last year. I attempted this using a mobile phone in GPRS mode! Needless to say I should have picked a day when there was not a huge patch to download. My company pays my mobile bill but there is only so much I can talk my way out of

Thats all I am saying on the matter due to certain co-workers also playing the game.....

I'm a london bus driver (and yes the big red double deckers hehehe) i've taken my laptop many a time to work with me. On my lunch breaks, which i take on my bus, I have logged in for an hour or so (wouldn't try while i was driving as the mouse would shake to much lol)

I've been logging in from a number of places which could be considered "odd", namely: In airplanes (first class service like the one offered by Lufthansa), trains (service or UMTS), cars (UMTS), and the - don't laugh - Zugspitze (highest mountain in Germany (2962 meters above sea level)).
I don't know if the first two things are considered "odd", but the last one could be, but after all, I just have a reputation as a geek to keep and basically it's just that I'm nearly always using my laptop for various reasons (be it photography or writing articles) and that SWG is the relaxing counterpart to real life (and since I use Alienware, it even runs in a good quality).

Well, unless it is the Star Wars slot machines, then it is a normal sound..lol

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

I am a heavy equipment operator, in other words I run bulldozers, cranes, loaders things like that. I took a laptop to work with me one night, I was working the 8pm to 4am shift in a tower crane. Nothing like playing SWG while 250ft in the air in a tower crane while looking out over the Las Vegas strip at 10pm.

first time I logged on was on my personal computer on a satellite system while on deployment in Afghanistan, most recent was on deployment to New Orleans in the wake of hurricaine Katrina in a warehouse along the river on a satellite system.
