How does the middle of the Indian Ocean sound? Logging in from a tiny, and I mean tiny island, named Diego Garcia. There is also the fact that I bring my laptop and log in from the various TDY locations that I travel to.

We are looking for players that log in to play Star Wars Galaxies from real world locations out of the norm (aircraft carriers, submarines, cruise lines, hot air balloons, ect). Tell us your story of where you log in to play Star Wars Galaxies from! (Serious posts only!)

I logged in a few times from McCarren Airport in Las Vegas. Everytime I go out of town, the laptop come with. Nothing like playing games in an airport bar, listening to slot machines, and hearing Star Wars in the background.

Well, unless it is the Star Wars slot machines, then it is a normal sound..lol

Yes, but in most cases you can use your own PC for gaming

I spent 3 months last year logging in via a cell phone connected to my laptop in an undisclosed location thousands of miles from home. That's pretty much all I can say. I've also logged in, the same way, while onboard a C130, a submarine(in port), and at this great sushi bar right outside the base

I unlocked my Jedi Christmas Eve usingmylaptop in my Uncle's house in Stockholm (5 hours drive from home).

It was 02:00 am at night and I was in bed. Due to overheating problem I could barely move my character, so my friends defeated Melichae for me.

Sorry for not having any better stories than that.

--- Cancelled 24th November 2006
Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

It depends entirely on the boat you go to. There is no internet access under the water, or really any communication of any kind, so submarinerswont be logging on. Surface ships, however, can have internet access, and several even have wireless networks. However, it's up to the policy on the ship as to whether personal computers can use that internet or if you have to use one of the computers provided, and these you usually aren't alowed to install anything on. In the case that personal computers are allowed, they are screened before being allowed on the ship to ensure they are safe and compatible. In my case, though, I bypassed all that using a cell phone plugged into my laptop, when we were allowed

We just got a new dell computer in the backroom where I work. It has a decent system, probably enough to run the game. My coworker is tempted to install swg on it so we can play from work...then promptly get fired, only to come home and have more game time! Woo!

I have logged in with my laptop at the Denver Diner downtown Denver, CO.

And yes, using a government computer to play games is against the rules.
