I wonder of bands as cool as The Pistols and The Ramones feature on any other board in this god forsaken place.

Theres so much around that you are crippling yourself by listening to a specific type, and you can bet your life the bands you listen to, listen to far more than the genre their music is slotted into.
Far to many closed minded zealots in this world that "only listen" to this or that.

Oh don't worry. In my music collection SLF, The Damned, and The Jam are sharing shelf space with Bauhaus, Depeche Mode, Blur, Camper Van Beethoven and hundreds of others

EDIT: All this is in keeping with the message subject. I too have quite an eclectic collection, complete with 80s metal, Jazz from all ages, Hardcore, Electronica, and even Classical. But that post would be enormous... (goes back to listening to King Missile's Gary and Mellissa)

Anyone mention Gang of Four yet? Damaged Goods comes to mind.

Been smuggling to Fugazi alot lately... but unlike many I've grown acustomed to their evolved sound even if it is far from the original mark.

Black Flag is still an interesting option.

For a while there I couldnt kill Janta or Mokk without DK's Kill the Poor in the player.

Throw in some post-punk, pre-new wave, Two Tone Ska for the sticatto guitar but mellower mood like the Specials, the (English) Beat, maybe even some Madness, but in all cases, the sound went a little south after the first two albums or so. Damn New Wave.

Hell, Generation X and the first Police album have a few tracks worth Low Blowing rude customers to, Dead end Job and Nothing Achieving from the latter work nicely. "My daddy's boots don't fit me... I'm bigger than him."

If you can get your hands on an album by the german punk band Die Toten Hosen (sp?) called Learning English I believe, I think most punk fans would find the covers in this quite well put together, complete with guest artists from the bands covered. The little english lesson audio bits between tracks are ROFL-able, all done in proper language-lesson voice: "Lesson 5: The Molotov Cocktail. Step 1: Get an empty bottle. Step 2: Fill the bottle with petrol. Step 3: stuff a rag in the top of the bottle. Step 4: Wait for a passing tank."

EDIT 2: How could I forget FEAR?!? Hard not to smile when listening to a band who's lead singer played the role of "Mr. Body" in the movie adaptation of the board game Clue...

If you don't want me to "play the forums," then I suggest you make time playing the game more rewarding and less repetitive than "playing" here!
READ THIS before telling me I cannot complain about Smuggler

Wow, good thread.

Gotta love Social D, Rancid, Op Ivy, NOFX, Dropkick Murphys, the Ramones, the Descendents, Murphy's Law, Black Flag.

Speaking of the Ramones, anybody catch the documentary on PBS last night? No, I don't usually watch PBS, but I heard it mentioned on the radio, so I watched it. Good stuff.

Oh, and one more punkband you may or may not have heard of: Beer Drinking Fools!

(Okay, yes, that's a shameless plug, but we're a punk band and we sing about beer, what more could you ask for? I only mention it because it's on topic... )

One Saturday I took a walk to Zipperhead
I met a girl there and she almost knocked me dead

Punk rock girl
Please look at me
Punk rock girl
What do you see?
Let's travel round the world
Just you and me punk rock girl

I tapped her on the shoulder
And said do you have a beau?
She looked at me and smiled and said she did not know

Punk rock girl
Give me a chance
Punk rock girl
Let's go slam dance
We'll dress like Minnie Pearl
Just you and me punk rock girl

We went to the Philly Pizza Company
And ordered some hot tea
The waitress said well no, we only have it iced
So we jumped up on the table and shouted anarchy
And someone played a Beach Boys song on the jukebox
It it was "California Dreamin"
So we started screamin
On such a winter's day

She took me to her parents for a Sunday meal
Her father took one look at me and he began to squeal

Punk rock girl
It makes no sense
Punk rock girl
Your dad is vice president
Just like the Duke of Earl
Yeah you're for me punk rock girl

We went to a shopping mall
And laughed at all the shoppers
And security guards trailed us to a record shop
We asked for Mojo Nixon
They said he don't work here
We said if you don't got Mojo Nixon then your store could use some fixin

We got into her car away we started rollin
I said how much you pay for this
Said nothin man it's stolen

Punk rock girl
You look so wild
Punk rock girl
Let's have a child
We'll name her Minnie Pearl
Just you and me
Eat fudge banana swirl
Just you and me
We'll travel round the world
Just you and me
Punk rock girl

QFE

and if i knew how to queto others in the same post i'd do the one about eniem and garth brooks in the same playlist. as that would describe me too but then i listen to pantera god smack slayer and a long list of other MUSIC.

Its simple, really, you just go to Edit as HTML in the first message you wish to quote, click Quote Post. Copy everything in the text area. Back out and go to the next post you wanna quote. Edit as HTML and click Quote Post again. Then place your cursor before the text, press enter twice to get some room in between the quotes. Paste the quote from the previous bit. You now have two quotes from two seperate people in two seperate posts in the same post.

(edit: somehow hit submit before I typed anything at all. I blame society--btw Repo Man ftw.)

I saw Social D when they played NYC back in... (checks ticket stub) October. There was this guy there who had a mime act for every damn song. I couldn't help but stare the whole time.

And while we are speaking of rocking in NY... I can't believe no one mentioned Sick of It All. I don't know how much anger I've worked my way through due to Lou Koller's vocals...

Though the all time most punking rockingest guy of all time is Johnny Cash. And no, I'm not joking. He was the stuff before there was the stuff to be.
