And I noticed a few things.
1) Han Solo is the best Star Wars Character!
2) Han Solo was a smuggler who smuggled, but didn't smuggle in the movie
3) Luke was a whinning baby and Ben Kenobi was an old fool
4) Han was able to fire the cannons of the Millenium Falcon from the Cockpit of his ship... something I cannot do.
oh, and...
5) Han Solo is the best Star Wars Character!
Had to get that off my chest.

Han was just the coolest character ever in the time Star Wars came out. I barely remember my dad taking me to see it about 5 times. If you were a guy in the late 70s you wanted to be Han Solo. It's weird thinking back how much SW has shaped my life. I remember the confusion and cold reality when Vader told Luke "the revelation" in Empire, and I cried for hours and was traumatized when Vader died at the end of Jedi. We waited in line on opening day for what seemed like an eternity to get into the theater, which was just packed.
Those were good times, I guess that's why my generation and older just don't care for the new movies that much, there's really nothing to them. It's also too bad the real movies will never be on DVD, just the "special" edition ones. I finally bought them but I'll never watch them again.

I have to original trilogy on VHS still...and so help me god if I have to maintain a VCR until my son hits 8 so he can watch them, I'll do it. The new trilogy is great if you want to see the world's longest single special effect...but so full of loopholes, bad plot twists and the worst whining this side of Tache Station that you'll cringe. At least until the Anakin/Obi Wan fight. Yay...3 movies and only ONE thing to look forward to.
Luke's Death Star run had people on edge more than any of Anakin's "adventures."
Hell, C-3PO had more cajones than Jar Jar.

I cringe every time I see the 'new' version of the Han/Greedo meeting. *puke*

/amen to all posters in this thread!!!
I too remember going to the original ANH opening day as a little whining snot nosed kid wearing my Chewbacca shirt. I loved it then and continue to love it now. I loved playing with my SW toys and imaging myself as Hanwhen Hasbo came out with the Falcon. I had the only one on the block.
Today I'm in the Navy serving our country overseas, and I can't wait till I get back to try this new smuggler publish out. Oh to play for hours on in is going to be awesome once again. And I did to my wife what any self-respecting smuggler would do, told her that if she wants quailty time with me - make a character and join me, and she did!Man what a wife HAHAHAHA!
Golden rod had more cajones but talked more then Jar Jar, but at least you could understand him. My favorite droid was and still is R2 D2!! Long live that bucket of bolts
Beep beep
Laterz!

Actually, I honestly think that C-3PO talked less than Jar Jar...the thing is, most people can't remember anything JJ said except
"Meesa Jar Jar Binks! Meesa sucks hardcore! Meesa sorry you hadda pay monee see me inna movie!"
After that, everything he says just rolls into one big ball of hatred.

I saw this when I was at Celebration 3, had to grab a snap of it. If you like Han and hate JarJar, I figure you could appreciate it

I will have to politely disagree with a previous opinions on the dvd trilogy. I actually liked it alot more than the OT i have on VHS.
It looks much cleaner, sounds so much better, and is overall an improvement. The greedo meeting didnt bother me too much because in the old version it just looks like a blur anyways. What irked me was the addition of the dance scene in jabbas palace. Seriously, it was so out of place I almost died laughing. As for the new trilogy I thought they all blew, and i see one huge loophole: Someone new to the series will start on episode 1 and it will go from fast fights and epic special effects, then start to look "crappy" around ep 4. you would think lucas would have just started at 1

It's not just the movies that we SW fans enjoy. It is the story of an epic struggle against a corrupt power system that is determined to destroy liberty and freedom.
Kind of like whatHomeland Security and the UN is doing in RL.
