Thread: How many 'Amazing Successes' do you get?

Ok, I'm a master WS, shelled out for the Toolkit, and I only make things i have 950+ resources for (which is not very much as I am relatively new).

My question is how many 'Amazings' do you get on average? I have read some threads that says WS don't make schematics unless they get all amazings on their experimentation. This would slay me, as I never have more then 2-3 in any good hour long crafting session, and never consecutively.

Ideas? Opinions?

I'm with you, Nahylan: if I waited until I got all amazings before creating a schematic I'd never make one!

I'd have to say that on average I get one amazing for every three builds. Probably 80% of my results are great, I've had more moderates lately than I usually get, and still get the occasional crit failure.

Have you tried the new foods that give you bonuses to experimentation and assembly? Bespin Port increases the success rate for the next experiment attemptby four and Pyollian Cake increases the next assembly roll by six. Good stuff.

It seems like I get amazings around 10% of the time. Doing one point at a time, the best I have managed was to get 4 amazings in a 12 point build, usually if I go one point at a time though I get one amazing per build. For most factory runs I shoot for no moderates and 1-2 amazings.

I'm a master weaponsmith, have +18 to weapon assembly, use 12.0 tools and a 43.44 station.

I'll get a moderate about 1 attempt in 100. And then only with junk mats.I get amazings about 1 in 50. All others are great. Thats pretty much the standard that I use for crafting to schematics. The amazing don't let you get higher damage, but it allows you to max a line out faster so you can spend poinys in another stat.

Same results for me except that I use random tools, driods, and crafting stations (range for tools and such varies from really high to in the negative ratings).

i believe if you spread your points over more then 1 area of what your crafting you get better results of amazing and less of moderate.

i know alot of you do one at a time and only on damage. but if you put 1 point to range and 1 point to damage your risk factor goes up. the risk factor i beleive in my experiance crafting is what you want. the higher the risk the better chance u have of getting amazing, and a 1 amazing = 3 moderate.

The only schematic I will experiment into the ground until I get 3-6 amazings on is the ADV weapon stocks... Those are bugged so bad its not funny and the only way to get max damage/speed on those is to experiment until you get the desired result.... On most parts I will experiment until I achieve the desired result... ESPECIALLY ifU am 1-2% from maxing with my last great... like ADV rifle barrels...I will experiment them until i fill both the damage and the range bars... Sure it takes time but when I'm doing this I have tons of the resources I'm using and each 'failed' try is being turned into a schematic... When finished or i'm fed up with tryingI will sort thru and weed out the onesI don't want... True it can be expensive for the begining smith but this dedication and insanity has produced some very nice weapon parts... IDON'T suggest doing this with the final weapon as that is too extreme even for someone as demented as me..

Out of five or six dozen weapon crafts maybe ... not always ... one amazing. Thats with a +43 station AND a +7 droid-based station outat the same time, +13.5 tools, no tool kit, and no battle fatigue (tusk cats always sleep on my harvestors for some reason). Out of the same craft group maybe four crit fails and too many moderates to count. When a moderate occurs I stop expiramenting right there and destroy the weapon ... it does not make it to market. I destroy maybe15-20% of everything I craft. I really shake when someone hands me Krayt tissue ... whew .... or almost as bad is a Krayt repair. Gee, who wants to explain the DEVs lack of common sense on that one to a customer that just had his max condition on a Krayt weapon reduced a couple hundred points! That really helps your standing in the community!

not a WS myself...but...

I use +15 tools (yes +15, very uber), 44.3ish crafting stations (cost me 250k), and I get an amazing about every 2 schematics I make but I am a BE, so I only have 1 line to experiment on...

dang.. i NEVER get any amazing successes. I've been master WS since the end of january and in all my weapons, i've gotten maybe 3 amazing successes. Sure, i don't use the best quality tools/stations, but still... 3 in maybe 600 weapon combines is pretty bad for a master WS.
