Ok, I want to get an idea of what the weaponsmith community generally uses in their weapons...

Personally I use the following,

Regular Pistol and Rifle Barrels : why? the speeds tend to be better (especially for Carbs and Rifles)and the damage that the advanced adds isn't really that much more. I consider using the Adv Pistol Barrels on Pistols that already shoot at 2.0 or under because of the speed cap for pistol users....since their's not use in making them faster if they are going to cap.

Adv Projectile Barrels : why? they are far better than the regular ones all around...in all stats, so why use the regular.

What are your thoughts on the uses of barrels? and what do you tend to use the most in your weapons?

I learned with my Master Doc to only use Advanced Components. Using similar quality materials (if you can find the specials for the Advanceds at similar quality) you'll get far better weapons using the Advanced Comps. I'm told my Laser carbines are some of the best on the server. I offer unsliced weapons only and let the customer find (and hassle) a Master Smuggler. It may take months to assemble decent amounts of decent quality materials, but once you've got 'em, nothing beats Advanced Comps.

Adv Barrels on everything.

Why?

1. Speeds means jack in SWG, once you climb closer to master you speed reduction that makes speed useless.

2. You get a lot better range mod (PvP, otherwise useless)

3. What does matter is DAMAGE. People only want maximum damage. It's the only thing that counts (besides HAM, but since everyone is buffed nowadays it has a smaller role today).

It does cost a lot more to make the adv barrels though.

There is only one gun I use standard barrels on - Flamethrowers.

I used to use all normal, then I started using all adv after all the bandwagoners discovered defense stacking and you needed tons of +accuracy to hit anyone in PVP. I'm still using all adv because I haven't got around to switching back to normal yet.
