i always hear that these fencer weaps are a lost cause. i know they use vibromotors and all. what is the best you've ever crafted/seen with or without a slice? are uber vibrothingys able to find and put in these babies and get a decnt fencer weap with AP1? yes? no? maybe so?

ive made a 212 damage vibroblade using nym motors anda slice.

Ive made 2.6 146 max Vibroblades, i forget the min damage, they should get better tho. My copper is better so slightly better VBs are on tehre way. If there is sufficient demand to buy the crate i have made now.

I made a few crates of these and stats are....
Condition: 961
AP: Light
Speed 2.6
Type: Kinetic
Min: 42
Max: 143
Wound: 22.30%
Don't know what stats usually are but these are crafted with resources I have laying around....

As a weaponsmith, I consider these the best 1-Handed weapon out there, for one simple reason: AP.
All things being equal (and assuming *not* Vuln,or 100%,to Kinetic) , they will out damage all other 'standard' weaponry that a Fencer can use.
Only place they fall down is that they don't really have a loot component that can make them comparable to loot-based Gaffi's, or Stun Batons.
Even still, I'm betting that a standard VB is on par with a base Ackaly Stun Baton/Gaffi.

umm gaffi's arent comparable to anything. fencer sucks for pve, and it sucks even more with a gaffi. unless youre fighting a jedi.

Versus an AP1 opponent, a well sliced gaffi will do more DPS than a well sliced vibroblade.

When I was a fencer, I had a bunch ofenhanced vibroblades made as Ithought it would be the best weapon to use.
Over time I found I was more successful using a Gaderiffi or Stun baton, neither of which were enhanced.
I think its just the low minimum damage of the Vibroblade makes it too inconsistent to be relied on.

< Versus an AP1 opponent, a well sliced gaffi will do more DPS than a well sliced vibroblade. >
Assuming equal slices, then the slice doesn't matter at *all*, because the relative DPS will have increased by the same amount.
Assuming a speed-capped Fencer.
Standard Gaffi: 132-222. Mean DPS: 177
Standard VB: 44-145. Mean DPS: 94.5
Gaffi is the *clear* winner on *base* damage range, for a speed-capped Fencer.
Now, factor in AP vs. AR.
For AR0 (but with *some* level of Kinetic resistance)
Gaffi does the same: 177
VB does 25% more: 118.125
Gaffi is still the *clear* winner, for a speed-capped Fencer.
For AR1
Gaffi DPS is 88.5
VB is standard: 94.5
VB isthe *clear* winner, vs *any* level of Armour Resistance (as the resistance will now be applied at an equal rate to both), for a speed-capped Fencer.
Now, with a 3.4spd Gaffi, a Fencer will *not* speed-cap until Master.
Thus will have a *lesser* DPS than that displayed above.
As such, the VB is clearly the weapon-of-choice for the canny Fencer, in the vast majority of circumstances.
As a weaponsmith, I *always* recommend the VB over the Gaffi to a prospective Fencer, though I suggest they take both if they're not too sure about it, and let the numbers speak for themselves.
[edited out a stupid typo]

hm you are right, I was using the wrong reduction for AP1. I've tried liking the vibroblade but in actual combat the gaffi still always seems better. Not that I use the fencer skills for combat much.

I suspect that it's because to the human eye, hitting for 5% more every 1.4 seconds *appears* to be better than hitting for less at 1.2 seconds.
You can see it in the way *everyone* wants a stocked gun.
I mean, if you're not speed-capped, havinga stocked weapon is daft. You'll have a higher DPS without it.
*But* you'll have bigger numbers with it. Thus the wanting of the stock.
