Thread: A 40/40 Adv Weapon Stock Everytime (11 or more pt smiths only)

Now, we all know that experimentation for this item is screwed harder than, well, a screw driven home by a power tool. However, through much testing I have discovered a way to get it everytime if you are an 11 point weaponsmith, and 75% or more of the time if you are a 10 point weaponsmith. If you have good enough resources (near 800 SR Linksteel alum and 680+ SR corelian deciduous wood), just follow these steps. If you don't have this area of quality, this is still guarenteed to max you out everytime if you have 11pts, and virtually everytime if you have 10pts. Now, if you do NOT have the crafting technique line from the force trees, I highly suggest you get it, or you could spend a LOT of time trying to nail this down with all great successes. The complexity is screwed up as well, and the more you experiment, the more of a chance there is of getting a good or a failure, so be patient. If you DO have the technique line, you are good to go. No worries for you. Here are the steps:

1st Experimentation Try: Use 6 points

2nd try: Use 2 points

3rd try: Use 2 points

Ok, you should be at 40/40 now, or if your quality wasn't where i stated it needed to be, you should at least be maxed on damage, which should be 38/38 or 39/39. If you are an 11pt smith, here is where that extra point comes in. It max out your speed, which should be .300 or lower (usually .287 if you are using the best stuff which is 801SR LSA and 687SR CDW). If you have 12pts, then you use that last point either on range or to reduce HAM costs. My stuff maxes at 85%, and that returns 40/40 @ +.287spd with +10 range and 26/26/25 HAM costs. Have fun!

Think I have 87% stocks that hit 40/40 +.277 with like +11 range or something or other.

Hey, one more thing: 6+2+2=10; i.e. this technique was developed with a 10 point smith in mind, so why you would say its only for 11 point smiths or greater doesn't make any sense.

Maybe you can "discover" Math next.

i always have to use 11 pts to get to 85%. 10 only puts me at 81% and i want the speed as low as it can be, plus using 10 doesn't always land the numbers at 40/40. somethimes it is 39/39. sometimes it is 38/40. sometimes it is 40/39. that's why i say 11pt only. cause only at 11 are you GUARENTEED the 40/40 (with the proper materials, of course).

and are you REALLY bored you have to have to flame me on two boards? the first time i was apologetic, because i had no idea the method had ever been discussed before (sorry i don't read EVERY single thread that gets posted). now, i just see you as an a55hat convinced of your own superiority and insisting on the fact that you can pee further than i can. sorry, but i don't give a d@mn. the information known to me before i posted this was that it would probably be appreciated because not everyone knew how to do it. you already knew. good for you.

If this isn't common knowledge, then I'm sorry, and it should probably be add to the FAQ.

I just found it extremely suspicious that this hasn't really been discussed in months then a popular thread on it is running last week and all of a sudden you have a big discovery and post it everywhere looking for cookies of your own.

I would think that beinga weaponsmith for so long and being knowledgeable about weaponsmithing you would have spent time on this before now.

well it's nice to know you aren't still trolling the Sunrunner forums then. as i stated over there, i don't do this for the purpose of stroking my own ego. i do it to be informative and to try and help. i apologize if helping people is against your way of life...

honestly? i think a lot can be derived from the fact that since the beginning of the game, weaponsmith has been one of the few professions that is very polished.

the bugs that ws has had, have been minimal.
