Are you standing near a public (in a NPC city) or private crafting station (in a player house). You need a private station to make bowcasters, as their complexity is higher than 25

Oh thanks. I didn't know that.
I suppose that private crafting stations will not be accessible for me without the owner's ok, are they?
What Skill level do I need to have in order to build a bowcaster?

You can make a bowcaster as a novice. Don't expect too much without experiment points. One component requires Intermediate Firearms, the Blaster Rifle Barrel. If you have a Blaster Rifle Barrel, you can make a bowcaster. Also, you can access private crafting stations in a guild hall or some shops that are open to the public that have their crafting stations in the back.

Or get you a droid with a Weapon Crafting Station in it. It functions as private station, too.
But as said above, as novice weaponsmith you can build bowcasters (even at novice artisan you could), but you cannot make good ones, because you lack experimentation points.
On the other hand, a master crafted bowcaster is a nice weapon for a wookiee rifleman, especially with some enhancers (the only weapon that still uses feeders AND powerhandlers).

Search out a Wookie WS on your server. Anything that would be made less than 0004 WS wouldn't really be of any comparison to another rifle except that it would look cool.

I ama Wookie novice weaponsmith and have the draft schem of bowcaster in my datapad. ButI cannot build it. I tried to use a weapon kit at a weapon workbench, but the blueprint did not appear on my list of weapons. What doI do wrong?
1.) Is my skill level too low?
2.) do I need to activate/unlock/add the schematic anyhow or anywhere?

I'm a wookiee too and I've just mastered artisan, on my way to WS. I'd like to point out that, as far as i know, the caster's schem is an artisan schematic. You dont have to be Weaponsmith, if you can get your hands on the needed components. But my question is: When i craft a bowcaster, does it use my artisan experimentation points or WS ones?
I just dropped Master Ranger and Scout in order to get MA/MWS, because I really think bowcasters deserve some love. It just bugs me that the resource requirements are so specific, with all that Doonium and Quadranium metal.
I take it as my very own personal quest to one day be known as the best bowcaster-crafter on Infinity. (Not that it would be difficult, I've never even seen a wookiee WS on the server. Most people go with human or fishy)
So, when I've mastered WS, I'll let you know how my casters are doing...
One last question: Does anyone know what the hypothetical best stats are for a crafted bowcaster???
