Just curious what you guys hunt for (mineral wise) when it comes to the filler metal (ferrous metal) about the best i can do (OQ + CD) is ~1400 with some Doonium or Hardened Steel. I dont know all the upper theoretical max's on metals and was just curious what you hunt down for that task.

Thanks, Ive never been able to find that "one" spawn of good OQ/CD ferrous, always average in the 1500 (combined) but i just noticed a vendor with a JTL specific steel that solved my problem. . Ive been making a few DE-10 lately, and since Plumbum has such a nasty cap on CD, i was hoping to max out all the others for safety sake (more like piece of mind). Ive been using some absolutley almost perfect Doonium and Duralloy (neither of which has spawn in over 300days), and still able to experiment to max on the De-10 (71%) i think, with the exception of a failure i had in experimenting one last night .. only got to 67%, but got a 31% dmg slice . Thanks for the input

The best thing to use for "Ferrous Metal" is the new Crystallized Bicorbantium Steel that was added with JTL. It has a 1000 CD cap to go along with the standard 1000 OQ and makes for some very sweet weapons if you get the right spawn. Unfortunately, it doesn't spawn as frequently as most other metals.

Barring that, I was using a solid spawn of Carbonite Steel we'd had on Tempest, that was 975ish OQ and 575 CD. I believe the CD cap on Carbonite is 600, so not too shabby. Unless you get lucky with the Crystallized stuff, a solid spawn of Carbonite is likely the way to go.

The hardened aversium JTLsteel (don't think I spelled that right) also has no cap on CD. You can in theoryget a 1000 CD and 1000 OQ spawn of that too. Right now I have some that is 950 CD / 894 OQ. Nice stuff.
