Well iuse a gun that is around1.6 speed, and when pup'd it is 0.6 speed and is far and away faster than not puped so if i get what your sayingit shouldbe 1.3 speed, if this is true then no, i dnt believe it as the gun is clearly faster than 0.3 seconds

I don't think its the cap either, I took it as fact before but with my experiences it didn't seem to cap there.

I know the number can be lower, I was raising the question about the difference in outcome, whether it makes any difference to go any lower than 1.3. Though I'm pretty sure it does make a difference, just not exactly sure.

My Carbine is 1.91 my modded speed is 1.12

With a 28% speed pup that goes down to 0.8 and there is a big difference

When i also have a speed buff this does not seem to make as much difference though if im using a speed pup, but with a damage pup the speed buff makes a big difference again. so i guess im getting close to the noticeable limit. But it definately is not 1.3

I have tested this in game play many times...

This is how I know my tests work. I created a macro to tests the times.... when my equation was off... the shots would overlap and cuase back to back shots and other errors. When my times were right my macro ran smooth and did exactly what I posted and at same times (even had stop watch... yes I was bored my grad progams does not pick up till spring and I have lots of time on my hands)

The cap for speed between "different" shots is 1.0 ie adv critical - torso

you "timers" work like this... modified speed x special timer = the time before you can fire you next shot (again not the same shot 2x)

Now this "timer" between shots caps at 1.0

How speed pups are usefull is on the specials. like critical shot 1.7 spd 1.9 dmg

so if you speed is .9 you can fire your next shot .9 x1.7 or 1.53 seconds later

If you speed is 1.5 you can fire you next shot 1.5 x 1.7 or 2.55 seconds later

Now for cap. ranged shot has a 1.0 spd 1.0 dmg

so if your speed is .9 you can fire your next shot .9 x 1 or .9 seconds later... However you cap your speed at 1 so you can only fire your next shot after 1 second (even if modified is like .6)

Back to back same specials have a differnt timer... looks like this

modifed speed x special speed+ modified speed x special speed

so for ranged and the .9 speed the fastest you can do back to back ranged shots is 2. ie 1+1

so if you have a mod speed under 1 and fired ranged over and over you will see it will fire every 2 seconds

However a good combo is having a speed at .75 then you can fire ranged/ placed every second.

placed timer is 1.3 so 1. 3 x .75 is .975 but will cap at 1

so with this you can fire: ranged - 1 sec - placed - 1 sec- ranged etc.

The cap is not on your modified speed... the cap is on the gameplay speed (ie time between you next shot)

This question has come up quite a bit in recent days. I will do some testing and post the results -- I believe that using ranged shot allows a player (with the right gun and skills) to fire once per second, but not faster.

I will test a gun with a mod speed of 1.3 and mod speed of 1.0.

I believe the test will show that the gun with a modified speed of 1.3 will fire (ranged shot) 1.3 times every second (or about 8 times in 10 seconds).

I believe the gun with a modified speed of 1.0 will fire once per second (10 times in 10 seconds).

It will be interesting to see if the results match my expectations. Well, at least interesting to me......

I'd be interested in seeing this work too. Let me know the results please

It stands to reason that if a SAC pup can drop your sac below the cap, a speed pup should also.

so whats been said is that the more speed you have and speed pup will only really make a difference on more advanced shots that have a slower recharge rate.

Its easy to cap speed at once per second for ranged/placed but to cap once a second for critical/legshot would take more moddified speed? but ultimately no matter how fast your modded speed is you cannot fire any shots with an interval less than 1 second?

Is this right or there abouts?
