I have been looking at this for some time, and with a few key weaponsmiths dropping out on my server I feeling that the market will open up again for new blood to take up the slack (aka maybe lower the market price)... anyway, while checking out the stats and stuff I come to notice that... WOW... being Master Artisan is a far cray from this "elite" crafting profession.... here is why...

The list of stuff you need it vary specific, 30 different types of resources needed

Man... in artisan I just need steel and or one other type, no "specific name" resource...

My question... How do you do it? how do you keep up the demand when such resources are needed.

The short answer, loads of time and loads of credit.

I have bend a Master WS for 6 months now, and while I do have all the resources for all the standard weapons, some of them are in low amounts or bad quality or both.
Personally I have a list of all resources that I need and what stats they depend on. And every time I lock in I survey to se if anything new is available that I need.
If some long time WS on your server have quit you might be lucky to find some old resources for sale at thair shops, but that would be expensive.

Time and Credits, I agree. The path I have been following is to focus on a class of weapons and build up what I need to equal the best on the server. As of now I can make almost every Pistol equal to or better on the server. My next area is gonna be carbines and some heavy weapons. Get fooman's WS tool from swgcraft.com. Research what spawns of resources were the best on your server. Once you get the names of some specific resources you are looking for check the forums and definitely check the bazaar there are some really good resources being sold cheap on there.

I think the best thing to do is stock pile the resource needed, not grinding resource, but good material. Enoughso that once I get started, I will have some good items to put out on the market.

As for grinding, I hate it, I going to take my time with this, figure the frist few hundred weapons will be for my use only until I figure out the workings... oh and thanks for all the help guys...

if anyone else has tips, let me know... I will keep this up for a bit...

I went through the grind slow. I would grind out a box, then play around with the new schematics. I went up the experimentation tree first, was more fun to play with additional exp points first. I reccomend that you take your time and enjoy it. I have been a crafter in a number of online games, and find that the interaction between different players is what I enjoy. It does take a huge amount of resources, but once you get a supply of them it is a little easier. Have fun with it and as mentioned above start small, pick a line of weapons you like and run with them. (not scissors of course)

For the grind I found that sitting in a cantenia was fun, got to chat with people and was not so boring.

Good luck and have fun.
