Thread: customer looking for a few answers before a big purchace

Hello all learned WS. I'm going to have a few pistols made, they are what you would consider "end game" for me. So i need to clarify a few things before i go bothering WS on tempest


1. i need to know the exact caps for a Power 5 pistol. I'm a RPer, and the power 5 has become my iconic gun. I'm trying to put together the best one possible but i have yet to find the caps. I'll need them to decide which tissues I'm going to use.


2. is there a specific post CU scope i should be looking for? Had a bunch of the precision ones, but now an adv. scope is better.


3. Failing the use of the power 5 i had decided to get a dl44xt also, only if it can be astetically modded(barrel, scope). as far as i know it comes pre-modded. can any different parts be put on a XT?


4. once i cap the guns damage through crafting, will slicing increase the max dam?

I'm also in the market for a new weapon, therefore this post is very interesting to me. My only problem is, I know NOTHING about weapon crafting. If you guys could also give a quick "must know", that would be great. Thanks, and sorry to hijack your thread, Kin

However the DLXT comes with visible scope pr default now. Also be carefull as using looted or the handcrafted scopes/barrels can lead to a very mutated looking gun (the component will show up at strange places on the gun)


4. once i cap the guns damage through crafting, will slicing increase the max dam? No also keep in mind that the slicing caps are lower than crafting caps (you can find the referance to caps in the stickies

guns CAN"T have custom scopes/barrels anymore? that seems like a silly thing to remove from the game. i just want to get this clear. hand crafted weapons, not factoy prodused ones cannot have custom parts?

They can, but before the CU you could customize the weapon look.


The weapons still take the scopes/stocks (other optional parts) and will have the benefit these grants, however the weapon look will not change (besides from the times when you accidently bug them like i described)

While that is basically correct I have noticed that the color/type of barrel that shows up on some weapons will change based on what type of crafted barrel you use. Whether it shows up or not is not optional, it will default to whatever the standard is now for that weapon, but the appearance still seems to change(for barrels at least) based on what type of barrel is used.


When crafting the barrels this is purely a cosmetic piece at the end just before you make the schematic. It does not impact the stats at all and most WS's use one type of barrel not bothering with the others, but there are options available. Also many of the barrels look alike so if your not picking one that's a different color(black vs white)or drasticlaly different shape you probably won't notice it.


So just to clarify what I have stated. You CAN NOT control IF a scope or barrel appears on a weapon, but... if one is supposed to appear you can alter which style appears.

Thanks Jason, wow this is getting complicated. So let me see if i have this strait. You CAN add a cosmetic barrel or scope to a weapon who's actual model is supposed to have one in the first place. So, for example, you could add a type 6(the ovaluar)barrel, and an ee3(boba fett)scope to, lets say, a dl44xt during the crafting process, and they will replace the standard silver ones?


If i read you correctly then any gun that pops out with a barrel or scope can in fact be customized. Buta gun(like the power5) that does not pop out with them will ever show a cosmetic barrel?


id assume that its not an exact or repeatable thing post cu though. i even have a few modded pre cu guns with multiple barrels/scopes. But if it can be repeated, this may solve my problem

Have a small update for anyone interested.


Power 5 min-max stats that I've found. If its possible, could someone lend a hand in calculating max damage from this. (very important for my tissue selection)


damage 250-551/ ???

spd 1.87/ 1.73

sac 118/ 65

wound 14.95/ ???

range 35m


These were buried in the stickied weapon cap thread.


Now, this is just a guess, but i have quite a few pre cu converted power 5's. For the most part their max sliced damage was in the 630's. is it safe to assume his as a good post cu max dam baseline? i ask because all my pre cu de-10's are at or near the crafted caps now.


This is really important for me, mostly because i spent a small fortune on post cu uuber tissues for these guns, and wasting a pair of192 tissues on a gun who's damage range is only +90 or so seems a little silly to me.

As the Power5 is a CL40 Weapon it wont be able to compete with the CL 53 (as their damage cap is way higher.) Using 192 max dam tissues would be a waste of awesome tissues as the weapon would cap before reaching the full potential of the tissues. I do not know the damage cap of the power5 myself, but I would guess it could be capped with some 130 tissues (or in that area)
