Personally I only use rancor teeth with over 150 max damage, that way it adds 100 to the max damage which usually can account for the dreaded min damage that accompanies rancor swords. Also I find myself putting them more into curved swords(1h) than anything else since, if you can get a good tooth and a good slice it will most likely be the highest damage sword a fencer will ever wield.
