I'm no weapon smith, but I've picked up a few Rancor tooth, can anyone tell me what these are used for?

they are used for making enhanced melee weapons.

the only ones rancor can be used in are:

2hand swords

2hand cleavers ( i think)

Ryyk blades

curves swords

I'm really confused by these Rancor Teeth. I look at my draft sword core and advanced sword core schematics and there just isn't a space for an optional component. How exactly are these teeth supposed to be used?

Are they actually enchancements to sword cores or can they be used instead of a sword core?

used instead of a sword core, please note, SOME rancor teeth are AWFUL, and smith made advanced cores would be better used.

To elaborate on what was said earlier. Some fellows and I went hunting Rancors the other day and we got 5 Rancor Teeth. Min Damage: +5, Max Damage: +50, Speed: +1 (yes it slows the weapon down).

They are worthless throw them away.... crafted sword cores are much better

There are higher level rancor teeth as well. Since I have loads of "rancor tooth" and will be taking up weaponsmith I will fiddle around with all the low level teeth, and then move onto the higher level stuff and see what I can come up with.

While we're at it, I checked the archives and saw that the tooth wasn't that great on a sword.

Is it still the same or it is "fixed"?...

still the same, just asked weapsmith to make me a curved and sword... both sux

they can make way better ones

not entirly true, i found three rancor teeth off an ancient bull, and the one handed curved, and two handed curved i had made are awesome. slow, but i'm a master so the two hand wasn't a big deal, plus it has a 72% wound on it and a 373 max damage and my one hand curved was the best i've ever seen, sure it's slower then normal, but with fencer spd mods, it doesn't matter in the end. not all the teeth suck, just really good ones are freaking rare

The problem with Rancor Teeth isn't the +speed, or even the stupidly low minimum damage - its the fact that they REPLACE the Sword Core, not enhance it (like krayt tissue does for ranged weapons).
