When combining the rescources you get a screen that says experimental damage XX %.

Now this is the maximum amount of extra damage you can get from experimenting if I am correct. What are the factors that determine this and is there a maximum percentage that it caps at?

I know that it has to be several factors and maybe random luck too because using the same components will not always yield the same percentage.

And if you are on Tempest server and wish to help out a novice weaponsmithwith learning the craft then I would greatly appreciate it.

The screen directly after combining the resources displays the base percentages of the weapon you are crafting.

When at a Private Crafting Station (one in someone's house), you'll have the option to experiment. From there, you'll be able to raise the Experimental Damage percentage higher thanthe base through experimentation points. The highest percentage you can get is 100%.

Your experimental damage depends on two things: The quality of the resources you use and the number of experimentation points you have to spend on Damage. Since you're currently Novice, you only have 1 experimentation point, so you won't be able to get very far.

When viewing the schematic itself, it will list the resource qualities that affect the weapon. It'll look something like "Overall Quality 50% / Conductivity 50%". This means that the best materials to build this weapon with should have both high Overall Quality and Conductivity. You'll want to seek out resources that match the qualities you need for the weapons and components you are building. So eventually, when you collect better resources and gain more Experimentation Points through grinding, your weapons will see significant improvements in their damage.

I Quote: "You will likely not see many (if any) Jedi in game for a long time (likely months). We're not kidding. Jedi are rare in this time period (between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back). Becoming a Jedi and surviving as a Jedi is very very very very difficult (and rewarding) in Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided."
